Program Details

The Buddhist Temple is located in Várzea de Sintra, a village in the Sintra countryside.

The Temple is very beautiful and inspiring, and every aspect of its architecture and decoration has a spiritual meaning. It was inaugurated by the Venerable Gueshe Kelsang Gyatso in October 2013.

The Temple's function is to benefit all people by providing the ideal conditions for their spiritual development, through Buddhist teachings and meditation.
Our volunteer program is designed to offer a meaningful experience of service, personal growth, and mindful living within a Buddhist community.

Volunteer stays generally begin on a Wednesday and have a minimum duration of 10 days, though they may be longer.
If this schedule is not convenient for you, other possibilities could be considered, depending on our availability.
As a volunteer, you will enjoy:

🌿 Comfortable accommodation in a shared dormitory
🥗 Three meals a day and snacks, with vegetarian meals
🌐 Good quality Wi‑Fi
🎨 A creative, peaceful and inspiring environment
🤝 Opportunity to connect with other volunteers, practitioners and community members
📚 Participation in Temple workshops and teachings (as long as they are held outside volunteering hours.)

This is an opportunity for those who wish to contribute their talents in a tranquil, spiritual environment surrounded by nature.
