I spent a month here and had a great time with a kind family and amazing dogs. The work was mowing, fixing holes, fencing, leveling, moving items, or feeding sheep. Tasks were physically demanding at times. On weekdays we'd start at 7:30 AM over tea, working 1-1.5 hours; the rest of the day had no fixed hours. I worked alone, with Robin, or with another volunteer. The home is isolated, but they kindly drove me to train stations or hiking spots on my days off. I also enjoyed two hikes, meals, and pub visits with them. I recommend this experience to anyone seeking peace and closeness to nature.

Cathy and Robin were kind and generous hosts making me feel welcome the moment I walked in the door. I spent my days caring for puppies, feeding the sheep, planting flowers/cuttings, raking brambles, and other household tasks. They didn't have huge expectations but were grateful for whatever I could get done in a day. They offered me rides to and from the bus station, brought me to town/to pubs, and on a day trip to castlebar. the farm was a great place to simply exist in a world outside of my own with plenty of time to read, rest, and walk around the property. Thank you both so much :)

I was very well received by Cathy and Robin. I was able to do various activities in the garden, look after the puppies and sheep, and also take care of daily tasks around the house. I learned a lot from Robin about garden maintenance, planting trees, and digging trenches for water and electricity. We were able to visit different towns around Boyle and walk near the ocean. I enjoyed sharing meals and cooking for the whole family. I had a very good stay.

Our stay at the farm was wonderful. Rob and Cathy are good folks who welcomed us into their home, introduced us to friends and family, and encouraged us to explore. They helped us with travel plans & didn't mind us leaving earlier than expected. The winter weather could make things difficult and we didn't have a daily schedule, instead just helping out with whatever came up,helping around the house, chopping wood, finishing a barn, etc. It was a lovely environment and I wholeheartedly recommend a stay. I would recommend packing a second pair of shoes for around the house (mud & such).

I spend one month with Cathy and Robin and it was truly a wonderful experience. They always made sure I felt comfortable and valued. They provided a clean, cozy, private room with a private bathroom and we were always welcome to use the common areas. I mostly worked together with Robin who is a very kind and calm person and always open to talk. The work can be heavy from time to time but I made a lot of new experiences and Robin and Cathy always made sure we were feeling good.
Free days were always flexible and the area has many beautiful places and hikes to offer.
Thank you very much, C&R!!

Both Rob and Cathy were really mindful and easy to talk to, and they made sure I was enjoying my stay to the fullest. I had a spacious and cozy room with bathroom, was free to go around the the farm whenever there was free time (which was definitely sufficient). The work was mostly cleaning and moving stuff, sometimes taking care of the sheep. From my short stay I took one day off, hiking to the nearby mountains. We went on a dinner a few times, and once to the town to find some traditional irish music. I worked mostly with Rob who was friendly and also gave me a ride whenever I needed.

We stayed for one week and couldn’t visit much since the farm is in the mountains, though Cathy kindly drove us out one day. The work was demanding and physically heavy because it’s a big farm with lots to do, but the accommodation was very comfortable, with a private room and bathroom. The family was lovely, always gave us delicious food, and they have adorable animals like sheeps, a duck, a chicken, a rabbit and super cute dogs! They were patient with my English and their accent was easy to understand. We had to leave earlier and they were very understanding and even took us to the airport.
