i spent a whole month on the farm with Marcelo and his family and i am so grateful for everyday. this was my first solo trip and they provided such a wonderfully safe and welcoming environment to explore being alone and and figuring out my independence. it was not what i expected but absolutely everything i needed. i truly felt welcomed into the family and i know i will always have a home in quellouno. i learned so much about the traditional methods of processing coffee and cocoa, spanish and so much about peruvian culture. marcelo and his family truly felt like my own by the time i left.

The location is beautiful and you will get to explore the farm which has many different kinds of plants, butterflies and birds.Lots of opportunities to learn about coffee and cacao and help prepare and try local foods a lot of which comes from the farm itself.Marcelina is very cool and knows lots about plants. Loved working with them and hope to come back. You also get to visit a beautiful waterfall and explore local area

I spent 3 weeks with Marcelo and his amazing family. In this time I learned about Cacao, Coffee and making icecream. As well as lot about the peruvian culture and food. the work was very diverse, i had the opportunity to help them at two of the local markets to sell products and get to know local people. The town where the family lives is calm and surrounded by nature. Close to the town are many nice things to do which made my time off nice. It was an priceless experience and a true enrichment for my whole travel. Thanks to the whole family for having me! <3

We stayed two weeks with Marcelo's family and I must say it was an incredible experience. It was the first time we did volunteer work and we were not disappointed at all. Marcelo and his family were very welcoming and very generous. They taught us a lot about Peruvian culture and biodiversity. We also spent a lot of time with Marcela and Eva, who taught us a lot on a human level. Eva is a wonderful young woman and Marcela accompanied us and taught us many things during this stay.

It was very rewarding the time we spent at the place; Ms. Marcelina is an open book when it comes to explaining, telling, and teaching. During my stay I twisted an ankle (nothing to do with the job) — just a minor accident — and Ms. Marcelina helped me a lot; together with Ms. Nohemi they were always very attentive to my recovery. If you travel, bring cash (soles); in town they don't accept cards a small tip in case you want to buy little things

I spent three weeks with this amazing family, learning a lot about Peruvian culture. I participated in the agricultural fair, visited the cacao and coffee plantation, witnessed the harvesting and processing and the presentation of the final product to a group of clients. I spent a lot of time with Eva and together we laughed and played. Marcelo is very kind and available and on weekends he organizes trips, such as visiting the waterfalls, a walk to the lagoon or in nature, swimming in the river and many more. I recommend this experience to everyone! :)

I loved this experience so much. Marcelo and his whole family are all very kind and taught us a lot about coffee, cacao, and Peruvian culture. During weekdays and weekends there is plenty of time to explore or relax, and Marcelo also took us to some very beautiful places near Quellouno. I recommend this experience to everyone who wants to learn about Peruvian culture and agriculture!

This experience was incredible!! It was my first time using WorldPackers, so I misunderstood some of the expectations, but Marcelo was very kind. I felt part of the family and I loved getting to know the town and the nature. It seems that the tasks vary depending on the season, and because I was there in the winter, I think we did a little less with the plants. We also did more work in the kitchen. I enjoyed learning about the plants that grow there and the gastronomic customs. I completely recommend this experience!!

These two weeks I spent in Quellouno were incredible. Marcelo and his family are very welcoming and kind; I felt at home from the first days. Marcelo explained to us the coffee cultivation process and I visited the cacao farm, two very enriching days. Spending time with Eva, cooking with Marcelina, and helping Marcelo in his restaurant were activities that I really enjoyed. The view of the mountains and the waterfalls from the house terrace is simply magnificent; this region deserves to be explored more! I recommend this volunteering :) Thank you for everything ❤️
