Our time at the project was an experience. We were able to learn a lot from the family about there eco lifestyle and alternative way of living. The accommodation was a tent in the woods and there were no real indoors. The bathroom was a compost toilet and there was an outdoor shower. During our stay there was some tention that had built in the last 2 weeks or so by Keita mainly (see Jolines review) and David was very nice throughout our stay. If your looking for a place to learn how to live a more sustainable lifestyle and disconnect this is the place.

Yes, this is the place to come for people who are interested in disconnecting from the modern technical ways, to reconnect with nature and a more simple, sustainable way of living. I apologise for any tension or misunderstandings between us that had a negative impact on your visit. To minimise tension going forward we will have sufficient signage of kitchen, bathroom and tool use etiquette, and a daily breakfast work meeting at 7:30am when we are able to supervise and provide better support.

We spent 3 weeks at the project. The exchange was fair (17.5 hrs/week for food tent) and they kindly picked us up. The family is lovely and in the first week we had a very very great time with them. Their eco-lifestyle involves very strict rules. Misunderstandings caused fast tension and we often felt unfairly accused. On our last morning, we had a heated talk; Keita said we weren't "volunteering" because we only did the agreed hours and no more. That felt unfair because we followed everything we agreed on together. Ideal for eco-enthusiasts, but they may not be ready for volunteers yet.

I apologise for any tension or misunderstandings between us that had a negative impact on your visit here. Volunteering is time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain. You got financial gain in food and accommodation for the time you worked. Many people have volunteered here, and they were wonderful mutually beneficial experiences. We are not be ready for people who have no experience with off-grid living and are only looking for a cheap way to travel.
