Program Details

In our home in Northern Sweden, volunteers help with the daily routines that keep everything running: firewood, repairs, maintenance, organizing shared spaces and supporting us when we’re away or busy in the veterinary clinic. Animal care is part of the environment, but not your main task. Some work is physical, and you should enjoy practical problem‑solving and taking responsibility. After an introduction, you’ll handle tasks independently, and reliability is essential, as we sometimes need to leave the farm together. In return, you’ll live with us, share our home and be treated as part of the family. You can expect an active, varied environment, lots to learn and a very real experience of life in the north.

Activities & Shift

Your days are structured but varied, with practical tasks that keep the place running smoothly. You’ll help with daily routines such as preparing food and feeding the animals, giving extra attention to senior dogs, keeping an eye on the dog yard, and cleaning shared areas (yards, dog spaces, kitchen, horse areas). Depending on your skills, you may also help with firewood, small repairs, or simple maintenance tasks. Optional: assist in the veterinary clinic with admin, cleaning, or basic support.

Shifts are flexible and usually around 5 hours/day but that can also vary depending on tasks and weather. There usually is time to enjoy nature, relax, or spend time with the animals.
