Highly recommended! From the first contact I could already feel Eimy's positive energy, and personally it was even better... great vibes and good interaction from the start.
The tasks are clear and well defined, the schedules are respected, and the meals give us money to buy things, which gives us freedom and lets us do as we like.
The location is great, the atmosphere wonderful, we can connect with guests, we go out to walk, enjoy the night, interact and make good friendships with the amazing people who pass through Family hostel, drawn by its good energy.
Clean facilities and well organized!

Thanks for the experience, those were days of learning in the kitchen, salsa classes, hikes and landscapes that other volunteers were teaching me. ✌🏽

Family Host, as its name suggests, made me feel like family. Personally, I had a great experience at this place; I could learn a lot about the hostel in my free time, and because it is such a welcoming place I could connect with wonderful people. Thanks for everything I’ve experienced these days and I carry you in my heart ❤️ Until next time!!

Villa and Family Host are perfect for enjoying nature, for immersing yourself in the local culture, and for spending a chill time in this wonderful town. Undoubtedly, the connections you make at this hostel are very beautiful. It is perfect for resting, having fun, and learning. The benefits are very good, although sometimes the order of activities tends to change, but with good communication it can improve. That doesn't stop me from recommending and thanking you for this beautiful experience :) Always in my heart, F.H.

I want to thank Family Host very much for this beautiful experience. From the first day I felt at home, in a very welcoming and special atmosphere. A special thanks to Heimy for being so incredibly friendly and making each day here unique. I loved the hostel, the energy of Villa de Leyva, which is really beautiful. I hope to return at a future opportunity. Thanks for everything 💕🥹

Unfortunately it was not a good experience for me because during my first morning shift at the hostel, after having followed a written list of instructions without prior induction for the cleaning area, the host reacted with shouting, an aggressive and intimidating tone when reviewing the work. He pointed out errors and tasks that, according to him, were not well done (despite not having received prior training). Because of this lack of respect and aggressive communication, I decided to cancel the volunteering after three days.

Jennifer didn't raise her voice; I think you took it the wrong way because you know you did it wrong, and putting up a barrier to not improve is a topic that can be a bit complicated. Thanks for your time anyway.

A nice, clean, and comfortable place; you’ll have a market to prepare your meals. The hostel is staffed only by volunteers; it hasn’t been the worst experience, though not the best either. Thanks for the opportunity; it was a week of learning and good sportsmanship 🩵
