The highlights for me were the close contact with the sheep, beautiful and diverse nature, and the peace and quiet I found on walks. I felt warmly welcomed from the start. Svanhild's delicious meals were a great opportunity to try traditional Norwegian flavors. Tasks ranged from light to physically demanding and could be messy and wet, so bring dedicated work clothes! Sometimes we didn't get two full days off per week, making free-time planning harder, but compromises were possible. To sum up: the stay was truly great and satisfying, I've learned a lot about living on a farm and myself :)

My time at the farm truly was special for me. The area is quiet and beautiful. I stayed for two months and met a lot of amazing people during my stay who made this experience into what is was. The work changes depending the farm season. Some tasks are more physically demanding than others. One of my favorite things were the sheep. But working with animals is a big responsibility. You need to be flexible and responsible. Svanhild and Bjørnar are incredibly people who welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home instantly. Problems and concerns can always be addressed. Incredibly grateful.

While my stay at the farm I got to meet a lot of new people, everyone was really nice, including the hosts. The work contained a lot of different tasks (building fences, caring for sheep), I learned new skills. Though that the work hours sometimes were longer than stated, most was still fun. On my free days I could hike through beautiful nature surrounding the farm. The food was good, a lot of bread, but warm food in the evenings, it felt like having a meal with one big family. Because we were to many volunteers, I had to sleep in my own van, which was completely fine, but not as stated.

My experience on the farm with Svanhild and Bjørnar was really nice. The place where they live is very beautiful, surrounded by sheep, nature and amazing landscapes. Having many other volunteers on the farm made the experience even more enjoyable and dynamic. I had the opportunity to meet many people from different countries and learn more about different cultures. The tasks were always different. They were sometimes tiring and physically demanding, but i really enjoyed working like this and doing something completely different from what i'm used to. I'm very grateful for the opportunity

Svanhild & Bjorna welcomed me with open hearts and made me feel at home. There were 11 volunteers during my stay, plus two of their relatives, so it was a lively and social place. It was my first time staying in a caravan, which was cool! And I had a roommate with me too. Working hours can vary each day, with some days shorter and some longer, so it's good to be flexible. Rest days are always respected, which I really appreciated. Svanhild prepares special Norwegian food on Sundays, and there is good food the farm other days too. All in all, I enjoyed my time and I wish I had stayed longer.

I loved my stay. Svanhil is a great leader, that made us also feel very appreciated.
I liked the variety of tasks, which allowed me to gain a lot of experience. Some of them easier, some harder.
There was quite a lot of us volunteers, which made it feel like a real community and I found some wonderful people🫶🏻
Just be prepared you will eat a lot of bread, but brown cheese makes it better haha

Our experience the farm was transformative and enjoyable. the farm's location was beautiful; in a quiet town, close to the fjord. Svanhild and Bjørnar were the best hosts and really made this experience special. They are proud of their farm and town and want the volunteers to enjoy their work and free time as much as possible. This is a working farm, so they do rely on volunteers and trust they will work hard in order to keep the sheep happy. This means the jobs can be physically demanding and dirty but also add real value to the farm. We would do this again!

Bjørnar replied

Camille was here in the winter in frost and snow. She helped us outside and inside. She treated our animals very good and she was not afraid to feed them alone if needed. Camille is very nice and kind. We want to say thank you for help. And we wish Camille all the best
