My stay was great :) I spent lots of time riding their bikes around the coast & experiencing Norwegian culture. The tasks are housekeeping and yard work, & general cleaning and other chores. At first I felt it was a little hard to grasp everything but within a few days I was able to get into the flow of it really nicely! Anne & Marita are always looking for events or activities in the area for you to do so you get the best experience possible. Communication was great, the kitchens, bathrooms, & rooms are very nice, (they are all twin beds), and they definitely made my experience special :)

I can definitely recommend volunteering at the hostel! It's the perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The hostel is located in a small village, so it's never too busy. The facilities are great and working hours are fair, leaving you with plenty of free time to explore the area. There are lots of beautiful hikes nearby, and the scenery is absolutely stunning. 😌 The owners Anne and Marita are very kind and warm people. I wish I could have spend more time with them! Thank you for everything 🫶🏻

This is a wonderful family-run hostel where you feel genuinely welcomed from the moment you arrive.
The work is fair, and I had plenty of time to explore or/and enjoy peaceful evenings. I loved the calm atmosphere of the village, with beautiful hikes, sightseeing, beaches covered with seashells, Viking history, and meeting kind locals who love sharing their culture and stories.
What makes this experience special are the people. You arrive as a stranger but leave as a friend. I'm grateful for the memories and would recommend this host to anyone seeking an authentic Norwegian experience.

After just a few days spent in the hostel I knew I would come back. The experience was truly amazing, eye-opening and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone who wants some peace and quiet. The hostel itself is so cozy and homey I felt like I belonged from the very start. Anna and Marita were so welcoming, helpful and always made sure we had everything we needed, they were also super respectful of working hours and in our free time they took us for fun adventures where we got to know locals and history of the area. It is definitely worth it and I cannot wait for next season!

I had such a good time at the hostel. There was a lot to do at the hostel and in the local community. Despite not being the busiest hostel, it was cozy, relaxing, and welcoming. Marita and Anne Berit were great hosts and very communicative and generous with their time. I loved exploring the area when it wasn't raining!!

The hostel was a great experience to volunteer. They were friendly, approachable, and gave me al the instructions I needed to complete the tasks. The tasks were simple and totally doable. They also were very welcoming and gave me so much insight about their culture that I almost felt like a Norwegian. The place was simply beautiful, the surroundings, the mountains, the walks. It was a perfect place to volunteer for the first time and I totally recommend it.
