Jocelyne is an incredibly warm and welcoming person who made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. She cooks delicious meals, and being vegetarian was no problem at all.
My main task was planting, which Jocelyne taught me with great patience. But overall, my stay felt less like work and more like being part of the family and their everyday life, including helping a little around the house or with the grandchildren.

Great first project. Took a few days to get used to the heavy work, living conditions, and different life. Jocelyne is a good human, willing to share her life, teach, and is generous to take us to local places. I liked that there were other individuals too which I got to talk to and live with. It was an enjoyable and enriching experience: living differently, slower, beautiful sights, around French language. And I am always happy to eat Jocelyne's food. Note no internet access, not near public amenities or towns, so it would be a long walk or Jocelyne may drive, 4-6 hr transit from airport.

At first I was a little apprehensive because I had never done farm work but Jocelyn was extremely understanding and helpful in helping me acclimate to the work. It was definitely tough at times, as it is physical labor, but it was extremely rewarding seeing the fruits of my labor come to fruition. Jocelyn is an absolutely amazing cook, and the meals were always varied so we never were bored. I was also happy that I could learn & practice a little bit of French as well. The environment is one of collaboration & support with everyone there especially the other volunteers.

I had an amazing time at the farm! More than the farm experience itself, it's Jocelyn's kindness and generosity that stood out the most. I treasure all the meal times together with the other volunteers, not just because of her delicious cooking but because of all the shared stories and all laughter. The work is varied everyday- feeding the animals, fixing the greenhouse, collecting wood to build a fence, and i also sorted books on the shelf in the house. We only worked a few hours a day and I also had a day off to explore Mont Saint Michel even though I only stayed there for a few days.

I improved my French so much in just a few days and felt genuinely supported. She even drove us to Mont Saint Michel, which was unforgettable. It’s a rural, simple lifestyle, so you have to be open minded most of all in the near convivence with animals, but if you come with an open heart, you’ll leave with one even bigger. I really enjoyed my stay with Jocelyn and this experience will full my heart forever.
