Program Details
Because volunteer stays are relatively short, it is important that we make the best possible use of our time together. For this reason, we ask all volunteers to carefully read the information provided before their arrival. This helps create a common understanding of the place, the project, and the role they are applying for.
We also ask volunteers to keep in mind that their work will not begin from zero. B&B is an ongoing project with a history, existing processes, previous work, and current priorities. While we highly value new ideas and fresh perspectives, we expect volunteers to first understand the context before proposing significant changes.
The first three working days are especially important. During this period, volunteers are encouraged to observe, ask questions, learn about current needs, and understand how their skills can best contribute to the project. By the end of the third working day, we ask each volunteer to present a preliminary proposal outlining the approach they would like to take, the contribution they hope to make, and how they believe their work can support the project's current goals.
These first days are also an opportunity for both the volunteer and the B&B team to assess whether expectations, communication styles, working methods and priorities are sufficiently aligned to create a productive collaboration. Experience has shown that early clarity benefits everyone and helps prevent misunderstandings, frustration or investment of time and energy in directions that are unlikely to lead to meaningful results. In other words, this is the moment when both sides decide whether to continue with the collaboration.
Activities & Shift
Your work will focus on strengthening the commercial side of our responsible tourism project. Rather than simply responding to inquiries, you'll help travelers find experiences that genuinely match their interests while contributing to the growth of B&B.
During your stay you will:
• Support and monitor Google Ads campaigns.
• Follow up on inquiries and help convert interest into bookings.
• Work closely with our Content & Social Media volunteer to turn visibility into reservations.
• Update and maintain accommodation and experience listings on Airbnb, Hostelworld and other booking platforms.
• Review and improve descriptions, photos and commercial information across our digital channels.
• Organize sales information, identify opportunities to improve conversion and contribute ideas that strengthen our commercial strategy.
You'll work directly alongside the founders, so we're looking for someone who enjoys listening, building trust, taking initiative and improving existing processes. More than previous tourism experience, we value curiosity, strong communication skills and a genuine interest in responsible tourism.
