This was my first volunteer experience and the best experience I ever had. Ommy and Jumbe were wonderful hosts and I would absolutely be back. On the second day I was here I truly felt like a local and they make sure you get that local experience. They do so much for the host and the host are their main priority!! Everyday was a new experience & anything I needed help with, they did that. I've learned Swahili, how the locals live & so much more. Please volunteer with them if you want an experience of a lifetime. It truly will be a forever memory and I have made forever friends. Thank you!!

Thank you so much for your kind and touching words! It truly means a lot to us. From the moment you arrived, you became part of our family, and we are so happy that you felt at home and experienced our local life.

Seeing your connection with the kids and your willingness to learn and share with us was really special. You brought such positive energy, and we are grateful for every moment we shared together.

You will always have a place here with us, welcome back.

Karibu sana!!!

I enjoyed my time volunteering here. The children were a joy to teach through songs, games and dancing, and everyone in the village was warm and welcoming! I also really appreciated Shabani and homestay host, Ommy, who supported me during a medical emergency and came with me to the hospital. The homestay is quite basic, so come with realistic expectations. The bucket showers, bed, mosquito nets and bathroom could be improved, but the home-cooked meals were varied and delicious. Overall, it was a worthwhile and authentic experience.

Working in the schools was an enriching experience; the children are super open to welcome you and eager for all the love you can give them. Marian, the woman who prepared our meals, was a sweetheart; she cooked for us very tasty and varied. In the first weeks the house facilities were very precarious but later we moved and having a shower changed things radically. Since the school is far from home, it's very important to bring enough money to pay for the round-trip transportation. Keep in mind that any expense that arises always falls on you.
