This was such an amazing overall experience that I'm so grateful for. Living simply in such a beautiful, remote place while getting hands-on experience with sea turtle conservation was awesome. The late nigh patrols (every night) can be physically demanding, but also very peaceful and rewarding. I was able to meet people from all over the world as well as practice my not-so-great spanish with some of the locals involved in the project. Everyone was super welcoming and incredibly patient. I felt safe throughout my entire stay, despite how remote the location is. I'd maybe bring protein bars.

I had an amazing time at the host. I learned so much about turtle conservation while being surrounded by amazing human beings. I was there only for a week, but I highly recommend staying longer to really experience all the wonders of this fairly hard but satisfying work. I also had the chance to practice speaking Spanish with the locals, which was really amazing!! Thank you to all the LAST team!!!

This was a very special and unforgettable experience. I met amazing people from all over the world, and together we helped protect the host. I learned a lot about the host turtle conservation, saw baby the host hatch, and even witnessed large the host coming ashore at night. These moments were truly incredible. The living conditions were quite challenging, and for me, one week was enough to fully experience the project. Overall, I'm very grateful for this opportunity and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in wildlife conservation.

I had an absolutely incredible experience with the LAST the host Turtle Project in Costa Rica. From the moment I arrived, everyone made me feel welcome and included. Nicki was especially amazing throughout the entire experience. She was incredibly informative and never once let me down when it came to answering questions. Her passion for the host turtle conservation was evident in everything she did. Everyone involved with the project was extremely knowledgeable, not only about the host and conservation, but also the tasks and responsibilities that came with working on the project. DO IT!!!

Volunteering with LAST was an incredibly meaningful experience. I had never been somewhere so remote before and I really felt connected to nature. I am also so thankful to have learned more about what goes into animal conservation work, and that I got to see baby the host! Side note, the accommodation is modest, and there are sometimes bugs or bats that live in the cabins with you. Also, bring comfortable shoes to walk on the beach during the night patrols. Overall, it was a great experience with good food and nice people.

I had such an amazing time! All the RA's were so lovely and helpful and the other volunteers were also fantastic. It was so social and we were so sad to leave. The patrols at night were tiring but felt so worthwhile even when we didn't see anything. It was so fun and learned a lot would definitely recommend!!

I had the best time with LAST! All of the people were super friendly and welcoming and we learnt so much from the locals and RAs. It was very social and there were lots of other volunteers. The food was incredible, and all of the activities were really fun and engaging, but definitely hard work! Night patrols were my favourite part; we saw lots of the host and I enjoyed every second of it! I would recommend this project to absolutely everyone.

Volunteering at LAST was truly an amazing experience, I was able to interact with both other travellers and the locals who work there, and alongside the host turtle conservation, it was a truly unforgettable experience. The project surroundings are so pretty and Maria the chef cooked the best meals. We were very well educated before going on patrols and saw 2 the host during my week long stay. Wish I stayed longer!
