I had a wonderful experience volunteering at May Rooms NTU. The work was straightforward and never took more than two hours a day. The beds are comfortable and spacious, and the hostel's location is great, with loads of food options nearby. The staff were super friendly and flexible if I needed to change my working days. I'd also really recommend this hostel if you're learning Chinese, as the staff all made an effort to speak to me in Chinese once they knew I was learning, and even let me explain things to local guests sometimes!

I absolutely loved my time at mayrooms ! The work is really easy and the staff is really nice. I got offered some Taiwanese pomelos to taste which was very thoughtful. If I'm ever back in Taipei, I'll volunteer here again for sure 😊

My time at May Rooms NTU was super comfortable! The staff were all really nice and always happy to help whenever I had any questions.
The work mainly consists of easy housekeeping and cleaning, and it usually gets done very quickly. On one of my working days, there were more rooms to clean than usual, so it took around 3 hours. The staff bought us lunch that day, which really showed their appreciation for our work:) Thank you! They are very organized and the schedule and work tasks are clear.

Mayrooms was a great experience. Staff was always great to chat with while helping out and hanging around the hostel. The staff would even help out with my mandarin if they had a moment which was super helpful and I appreciated it a lot! I even got to learn the hokkien saying for good morning - “gâo chá” :) Responsibilities were as detailed and work was never a drag. Things moved quickly and the routine cleaning/housekeeping was easy to pick up. Sleeping arrangements were clean, cool, and comfortable. Overall a really pleasant time!

My time at May Rooms NTU was largely enjoyable. The hostel is about 15 minutes away from the nearest train station but it is in a lovely neighbourhood, Gongguan, that has lots of character and interesting things to do. The work consisted of basic housekeeping like cleaning toilets and changing sheets. Work hours varied depending on the number of checkouts each day but never exceeded 2.5 hours. The staff team were extremely friendly and clear in communication. Some cleaning processes & equipment could be improved.

I stayed at may rooms ntu and it was super comfortable. The location is a little outside the center but still really convenient , also there are a lot of tasty food options around.
The work load was also very manageable, usually no more than one to two hours , all the tasks were explained clearly. Work usually started at 10 am , and there is a free breakfast before that.
Most of all the workers were super friendly. They would often help out , especially if there was a lot to do , and sometimes even buy us boba afterwards.

Everything was perfect. Work was tailored to the workload; I never worked more than an hour and a half. The days off were reasonable, and the other volunteers I met were great. The staff speaks English and is friendly, and the breakfast is perfect for everyday life, and the location is good! I hope to return soon.
