I spent a wonderful week with Luz and friends. She showed me all her projects designed to utilize used materials such that there was no such thing as garbage, as well as avoiding dependence on industrial chemicals for cleaning and consumption. Luz as a host shared all her knowledge, and through practical experiences, our learning was meaningful and valuable. She is a very organized person; she planned all the volunteering days successfully, and she has a very clear sense of purpose. We felt empathy from the beginning and teamwork was wonderful. We shared with her family and with some of her collaborators. The volunteering site is located in a quiet, safe area with a beautiful landscape. This was our second volunteering experience in contact with nature, and Luz was happy with our performance.

Sharing this space with Luz as the host allowed us to gain new knowledge and meaningful environmental learnings. The purpose of her project is to make visible new practices using recyclable material; in our experience we were able to create trapodamas under her direction, and we planted plants whose purpose is to create living barriers and to reforest the landscape. On the other hand, planning in the organization of all activities was evident; we enjoyed the company of her family and the pets Peluca and Zeus
