It was such an important project! It's a project that empowers women and their kids, and really helps the local communities of Rio. After being in rio before, this is the place I would say you get in touch with the local side and feel a part of the true community here! The women running the organization is also so lovely!! It was a great time staying there and already planning to come back in January!

It was an amazing experience! Leisa, Maisa and Maristela were all super kind and welcoming throughout my stay. The volunteer work was also very relaxed, and you have a lot of freedom to explore Rio and make plans with the other volunteers. For me, the best part was definitely the English classes. The kids are so sweet, happy and genuinely excited to learn, and being able to teach them was a such a beautiful experience. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys working with children and wants to do something meaningful while traveling

I had a wonderful time at the organization Association. Leísa is a very attentive and kind host, as are the other members of her family. The volunteer work is not demanding, so there is plenty of free time to explore Rio de Janeiro. I also highly recommend this volunteering opportunity for digital nomads, as the flexibility of the program leaves plenty of time to work and earn additional income. I was truly inspired by the social work they do and the positive impact they have on the community. I deeply admire their dedication and am grateful to have been part of it.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The daily fee is completely fair for accomodation and food, Maristela is an amazing cook! The shared room is only meant for 2 people so there is a lot of space and we had our own bathroom/shower. I was given creative freedom to teach the english class, the kids are great/kind/receptive to learning. I was only here a week, so I didn't get to experience all that they have to offer to the community, but from what I did see, it is very impactful. I had more than enough time to explore Rio/Volunteer/Relax. I would love to return :) Movie night/Music lessons etc. :)

It was really great to have you here with us! We were very happy to know that you enjoyed the experience, the classes, and also a little bit of Rio de Janeiro.

Unfortunately, we had a small problem with the platform and we couldn't leave our public review for you, but we wanted to record here how much we enjoyed having you with us and how grateful we are for all your help.

It was a pleasure to welcome you to Ágape! We hope you’ll return someday. The doors will always be open ❤️

Association the organization is a grassroots organization helping families where they live with vital support. It is run by a selfless family who pours their heart and soul into the work. I taught English classes, assisted with letters to potential funders, and helped with a craft from a Mother's Day luncheon for the community. It is an ideal assignment if you want to see a lot in Rio, because they are very flexible and only ask for about 3 or 4 hours per day of work with 3 days off per week. Note that they do not recommend walking around alone in the neighborhood, so we took Ubers.
