It's highly recommended. It was a great experience to be at the camping. Peter puts a great effort to make the experience worthy. I learned about construction and carpenting even though I have no experience in those areas. The place is surrounded by forest and next to a mountain with many trails and paths to walk. I even got to ride an atv to the top, the path is so beautiful. If you like nature this place is for you. I also got to experience authentic Korean lifestyle. Peter invited me to eat to many restaurants and the food was so good. We hang out with his friends and I got to live like local.

This was a nice experience in nature. Weekends are very busy and you will be at work most of the day but during the week you work less and can enjoy leisure time. The host will make sure you always have food and are comfortable. Be prepared for: being away from cities, few transportation options and mosquitoes ^^ Geoje bus terminal is downtown and will take you to Seoul, Daegu or Busan directly in great buses. If you know how to ride a motorbike life is easier. This is a nice place but very rural Korea :)

It's a restaurant/camping/ATV, and we're responsible for cleaning, serving food, and helping with customers. My stay was 20 minutes from the camping, so I left home at 8:30 AM, had breakfast and started work at 9:30. Since it's far from the accommodation, we stayed at the camping until we had a ride back, about 6 or 8 PM. There's a dormitory at the restaurant, but both accommodations are far from shops. Bus service is limited and it takes about an hour to get to the downtown. In my first week I worked around 40 hours. The island is beautiful and peaceful but the work shifts are long and tiring

Peter was a welcoming host who always tried to give us a real korean experience. It was really nice to meet his friends and he showed us different korean food! Even though communication was sometimes lacking and some misunderstandings occurred, we were able to talk things out and make it a better experience. Keep in mind that this is an island though, so getting around without a car can be really hard and takes a lot of time. Peter is a busy man so he is not able to always drive you especially on days off. It is a lot of work and can get very busy but you will meet alot of nice people 😊

My experience in the camping was my 1st volonteering and thought there were ups and downs, I feel grateful for my time spent in Geoje Island. Tasks actually involved more cleaning and tidying and kitchen hands (often handling meat, so vegetarians/vegans should be aware) rather than art and carpentry. Also, weekends can get much busier and more demanding (extra work hours). Despite some misunderstandings, Peter is a truly kind, welcoming and funny host, who is genuinely willing to show korean culture in many ways (connecting with his friends, cooking typical korean dishes…). Many Thanks Peter !!

Moiri is an ideal place to connect with nature; it is full of trees and beautiful views. The host is a kind and attentive person, and does everything possible to make you feel comfortable and have a good time. In addition, he is a flexible person with whom any situation can be negotiated. The tasks generally consist of maintenance and cleaning of the place and serving guests when there are busy days.

Moiri replied

Karla is a dedicated traveler who quietly gets things done.
She got along wonderfully with the other volunteers and worked exceptionally hard on everything assigned to her.
During her stay, she helped us with various tasks, including painting.
I hope she has many more great experiences and an amazing time during her stay in Korea!

My experience in Moeri was very memorable! The routine was intense and required a lot of dedication, but it also gave me moments that I will cherish. The outings were, without a doubt, among the highlights: getting to know incredible places, appreciating the landscapes and experiencing the local culture made it all worthwhile. And the dinners at different restaurants were delicious! I leave Moeri with fond memories, learnings, and gratitude. Peter, if you take the group out to dinner one day, take me along! I would love to participate again!

The experience was pleasant, but it is ultimately a hotel where the bedrooms have to be cleaned. So the truth is that it is not what is offered in terms of construction, painting, and repair at the campsite.
