Andalusia was very beautiful but, unfortunately, I can't say the same about my volunteer experience.
The house assigned to me and the other volunteers was in terrible conditions. There was even a hole in the ceiling and, before my arrival, mouse droppings were found inside a kitchen cabinet.
During my stay, the toilet also broke and wasn't repaired.
Making the experience even more difficult was the relationship with José, the owner. I found him rude on several occasions and aggressive. The situation became so unpleasant that I had to leave the facility a day earlier.

This Worldpackers experience gave me a new perspective through cultural exchange. Jose and Flor were really welcoming, even took us to Tarifa, shared local recommendations, and sometimes invited us for lunch. Our job was building the cabin which was demanding but rewarding. However, our accommodation had some issues, including a leaking ceiling, doors that did not close, and a toilet that broke and was not fixed. Communication with Jose was sometimes difficult due to the language barrier and different opinions. But overall, I would recommend it, just be aware these things might occur.

My first experience taught me so much. The family was very kind, they shared meals with us, took us on a trip and were always friendly and welcoming. They tried their best to explain things when we didn't understand, however, they didn't speak English, so communication was difficult when our Spanish wasn't enough.
The only negative side was the accommodation. The house had a leaking ceiling, no lock, broken tiles, and a broken toilet that we had to flush with a bucket during our last week because José refused to fix it. Despite all these problems, the experience was still very valuable.

It's been a great experience. Our hosts were very welcoming and kind. This opportunity has been very useful for learning new practical skills and improving our language skills. We met a wonderful family with whom we shared many memorable moments, both during working hours and in our free time. I would highly recommend it!

I loved every minute! Flor and José are super cool and kind, we worked together and they were patient teaching us what to do. We had a lot of free time, a part spent visiting around and a part spent together! Would totally recommend this experience, this was my first one and I couldn't be happier

Absolutely lovely people! Such a hospitable family, we felt incredibly welcomed and comfortable. They were super flexible and happy to work together for the schedule. We shared food, stories, and laughs. We also really enjoyed playing with the pets. We loved our stay and would be back to help again 😊

Volunteering here was a good new experience. Our tasks included harvesting olives, building a botcha field, and more. The work can definitely be physically exhausting. We had enough free time to visit different cities. We also spend time with the family playing games or cooking for each other, which was really fun. There are also 2 bikes and lovely pets.
Negative things were the rain that came into our house, the bad wifi, and that it was sometimes cold inside. José didn't really care about these problems. Also if you can't speak Spanish, it's more difficult to get included.

I liked volunteering for the farm. Our work was harvesting Olives, building botcha field and some other small tasks. So we had a lot of freetime to visit near cities. Flor is really nice and we spend time together by playing games, watching movies or cooking for eachother. They also have two cats and a dog which we played with. The negative side was that on rainy days, much rain and wind was comming in our house. And when we told Jose he labeld it as no problem and even got a bit unfriendly. Sometimes we felt a bit left out because our spanish isn't good and they don't speak english well.

This is my first experience as a volunteer, and without a doubt it has been incredible. From the first day I was warmly welcomed; the warmth and kindness of both of them made me feel at home. Without a doubt I will carry with me a great memory, a beautiful family, the place is lovely, and the activities with everyone. I learned about olive trees, I improved some of my skills in manual work, and learned new ones as well.

Endlessly grateful to feel at home and to be one more member of their family. Thank you Flor and Jose 🌸
