The local people are incredibly kind and welcoming, and they make you feel at home from the very beginning. Teaching both children and adults was one of the most rewarding parts of my stay. They are eager to learn, and being able to help while learning from them at the same time is truly fulfilling. the school is amazing and always makes sure everyone feels comfortable. Living with volunteers from different countries also makes the experience even more special.

My experience in Assa, Morocco was one of the best of my life. It really changed me. I connected deeply with the culture, the people, and especially the children. Teaching was so fun,I always wanted more. the school, our host, is an amazing person. He is always there for you, cares a lot, and goes above and beyond. He respected our work hours and days off, and even took us on trips every Sunday. The atmosphere with the volunteers was incredible we felt like a real family and shared everything together. I will never forget this experience and I hope to come back very soon.

Volunteering with the school was a great experience! The city is very small and there's no much to do, but it's a great opportunity to connect with locals, learn arabic and immerse in their culture. Acommodation is simple but very comfortable and they offer 2 deliciosous meals a day. the school and his family are super kind and attentive, they made us feel very welcome. I recommend this experience!

Lahsen was one of the most fun and easy going hosts I've had on Worldpackers. We had some great times going out on day trips, having a picnic at the beach or going dancing and feasting in the desert. I appreciate his openness to different approaches to teaching English. Some of my teaching included teaching English thru popular song lyrics then playing the songs to my students on my ukulele. Lahsen especially liked the song, "Hotel California" by The Eagles and often requested it.

The school was a great host, extremely helpful, respectful and attentive. Working at the center was quite fun, as most of the students are very eager to learn not only a new language, but also about us and our culture. The stay was comfortable enough as we were staying at his own family's house, which is simple but fulfilled all our basic needs, and the food his mom prepeared everyday was always delicious! Although there was not much to do besides work, it was very interesting to experience of a traditional town in the middle of the desert :)

It was a very lovely stay with the school, his family & friends in Smara!
I've worked approx 15h a week (evenings), which was totally managable. I had enough time to work on my projects during the day.
The food I've got served was delicious!
I got taken care of & my needs were always considered:P)
The work itself was a bit overwhelming at the beginning because you'll teach a class all by yourself, but after some classes you'll approve and get to know the kids better which makes it so fun! The kids are lovely, kind, sometimes loud but fully grateful and eager to learn new things!

It's hard to put into words all the good things we found during this month staying in Assa; the opportunity to integrate into the local culture and share with so many other volunteers was invaluable. Lahcen and Nathan made sure we were always comfortable and felt part of it. The teaching activity is very rewarding and the students are pure love. The only detail to keep in mind is the remote geography of Assa, which slightly limits mobility to other towns. Without a doubt I would return and I highly recommend it! Thanks for everything!

My stay in Assa was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. The school is an exceptional host with a big heart, who does everything so that its volunteers and the people around him have a good time. Teaching is rewarding, funny, and we become so easily attached to the children in our classes... seeing them progress over the weeks is wonderful. The other Moroccan teachers are also beautiful souls, generous and warm. All of this takes place within Morocco at its purest, with all its qualities, an exceptional landscape and culture. I highly recommend it ❤️ and thank you for everything
