As a volunteer, you’ll be part of a hands-on construction project, working side by side with our local builders, friends, and other travelers from around the world. Every day brings something different depending on the stage of the build and your skills.
You might help prepare the site, carry materials, mix concrete, build wooden molds, create rebar structures for columns and beams, or assist with carpentry tasks like sanding, assembling wood pieces, and even helping with the palapa roof.
As the house takes shape, there are also opportunities to get involved in finishing details such as polishing concrete, preparing walls, organizing tools, and helping create the final spaces that will soon become a beautiful home by the sea. If you have experience in carpentry, plumbing, electricity, or construction, that’s amazing and your skills will be highly appreciated.
What matters most is a positive attitude and the willingness to learn. This is a great place to gain practical skills while being part of something meaningful.
Volunteer hours are usually relaxed and flexible. Our local team works Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, while volunteers typically help from 8 am to 1 pm for 4 days a week, or sometimes fewer hours spread across 5 days. We’re very flexible and always happy to adjust the schedule if you want to enjoy yoga, martial arts, surfing, or simply spend time at the beach.
We provide all 3 meals from Monday to Friday, and weekends are a little more spontaneous and fun. People often do their own thing, but we also love gathering for BBQs with fresh local fish and sharing meals together.
Life here is all about balance: meaningful work, beach sunsets, community, and personal time. We often cook together, hang out as a group, and enjoy the relaxed vibe of San Agustinillo, while always making sure everyone has space for themselves too.
San Agustinillo is truly a magical place — a small beach town surrounded by nature, amazing surf, warm people, incredible sunsets, and some of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico. It’s the perfect place to slow down, connect with others, learn new skills, and enjoy the simple beauty of coastal life.

The local team usually work from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, but typically volunteers work from 8 am to 1pm, 4 days a week. The schedule is flexible, so we’re always happy to chat and adjust if needed.
Weekends are free, and we usually take most of friday off— the perfect time to relax, enjoy the beach, or explore the beautiful surroundings of San Agustinillo. 🌊🌴
In terms of activities outside of the construction we usually spend every evening on the beach from 4pm, swimming, playing beach volley, rock climbing or relaxing.
We also ride motorcycles and mountain bike regularly in the area, typically we do day trips to pluma hidalgo for example or explore other beautiful beaches within a couple of hours drive. We also try to regularly go to the mountains to hike and camp.
