I moved to Serbia, and this wasn't just a short trip or a volunteering experience — it was a major life step. I'm sure it was the right decision to start my relocation here. Zorana is an incredible boss and a true friend; I really admire everyone working at the place. One guest even said it's the coziest and safest hostel they've ever stayed in anywhere in the world — and that's a huge compliment. The job can be challenging at times, which is normal for a hostel, but I've never felt left alone. the guest house — 🧡

Being part of the Hostel Che team was the highlight of my volunteering experience in Serbia. As a former guest, it was fascinating to see firsthand how things work behind the scenes. Pros: - Zorana (the owner): She is a wonderful and caring person. She thoughtfully managed my schedule and always took the necessary steps to ensure my comfort and well-being. - The rest of the team: Mateja, Mia and Sreten are equally positive, welcoming, and helpful. Cons: - Nothing significant. Perhaps a few areas in the hostel could use some routine maintenance, updates, or a bit of renovation.

The actual volunteer work is offsite from the Hostel and involves caring for private apartment rooms rented out individually through booking.com and AirBnB. The host ended our experience one month early, which is an incredibly challenging obstacle to overcome when traveling, to rebook and find steady accommodations for the month you were planning to have it. I really enjoyed that Zorana trusted me to get all of the tasks accomplished without micromanaging me and dictating. As far as meeting the UN sustainable development for "work." This is not supposed to be "work." Work is paid.

I spent 3 months in Belgrade and I couldn't have gotten a better host. Zorana is very sweet and understanding, a really good boss. I was also nicely received by the team at the guest house, they always made me feel welcomed and appreciated. The work itself was not complicated, but you do need to be organized, since you need to take care of managing the reservations, the check-ins, and check-outs. The studio apartament I stayed at is very well taken care of and has every comfort you might need. If I ever come back to Serbia, I am totally choosing this experience again! Lots of love!

Zorana was a very kind host and everything for the job was communicated well. The work was very easy, mostly checking people in/out, changing bedsheets and cleaning rooms. I would recommend this position to anyone who is looking to visit Serbia.
