You will stay with other volunteers in the 'yellow house', a house specifically for volunteers! It is easy to make friends here and there is always lots to do. Examples are hikes, day trips to nearby islands, attending festivals and jam sessions, going to the spa, enjoying the midnight sun, swimming in ice lakes. You will have a blast here, it is a really unique destination!

Tromsø the hostel is an amazing choice if you wish to embark on amazing hikes, enjoy wonderful sights and meet plenty of people. They have a little less than ten volunteers at a time, so it's hard to feel lonely and bored. Tromsø is a nice and quiet little city, in the summer (not taking seagulls into account). Plenty of things to do and places to discover in town and especially in the surrounding area. Naoko and Robin, the hosts, are very welcoming and warm people, and I can't thank them enough for the experience.

It's a really cool place and I can recommend it to anyone, especially if you're looking for a place with a lot of nature around. We got the schedule one week ahead which made planning our free time easier. You shouldn't have any problems with dogs, since you'll live with one. But he's the cutest, so nothing to worry about!!

A wonderful experience with all the volunteers. Naoko and Robin were very kind, flexible with schedules, and took us on tours. I would definitely volunteer again!

This has been the best volunteering experience I have had so far. Workload is not much, you get to meet many people, host is friendly and flexible. There are different tasks like cleaning, construction and reception. You get time to explore the area and go hiking. If you love dogs, this is your place. Burger (the dog) demands love and walks. Initially I intended to stay for only a month but I decided to extend as I was having such a good time. I definitely recommend it to everyone.

My experience at the hostel was short, because of a family emergency, but great! Naoko was always just a text away and helped with anything we needed. The other volunteers were super nice and the atmosphere in the house was very welcoming. The tasks were simple and not very long. Unfortunately, for my italian standards, the staff house was not the cleanest. It's completely managed by volunteers, so it reflects on the people you have around... but other than that was filled with all the basics. The only thing missing, that I would add is lockers for the volunteers valuables.

It was the best experience I've never had. Naoko and Robin are so flexible with the schedule and kind people. Sometimes, if there is any spot free, you can join the northern lights tour and it's so incredible. The shifts are easy and you have enough time to visit the city. I really miss all the volunteers, we were like a really family with Burger. I can't wait to come back.
