The experience

It's a wooden chalet, that we're restoring and it is our main home for now and near future. It relies on solar panel and spring source. We're tend to be self sustainable and autonomous. We have 5 hen. We do a lot of our own things, like preserves vegetable, lacto-fermentation, our own tomato sauce and ratatouille, our own compote and many other things. We have a very nice sportive little dog and a big lovely cat we have just adopted.

Program Details

At the moment many things going on : tasks like installing gutters, moving trees, helping us improve the chicken coop, finishing the bathroom walls, insulating the floor, chopping wood, and mowing the lawn...

You have to be a handy person and being confortable with tools. We do a lot of different task that can be physically demanding.
We like doing sport, hiking, swimming, running. We live in the nature so obviously we like observing it, our chalet is facing a great view. So it is very easy to rest...
We are non smokers and we prefer people who don't smoke. We're not heavy drinker but we appreciate a drink once in a while.
We don't have TV and we don't spend much time on our phone or on social network. We prefer discussion or board games. We listen to music a lot. We have an electrical piano and a violin.

We'd like people who will be willing to share our life style and people who can be independent as well. We like cooking and eating together. What's making woofing interesting is the cultural exchange around it. We are not vegetarians, however we don't eat that much meat. We like you to be involved and participate to the usual house cores. Helping us out with usual daily task is very important to us.

We live close to Le Corbier in a little wooden chalet, in the forest, accessible by walking (20 min) or by quad. It is at 1500m altitude. This ski resort is closed in May and June.
At this altitude it can be cold on evenings so take warm clothes and your headlight for night time.

Much easier if you have your own car to travel around but all good if you don't. There are a lot of hike around. Le Corbier is accessible by a walk but be aware that all the shops are closed from April to July.
We have a helpx account too : Le Corbier

Activities & Shift

We usually like to have your help 4-5 hours in the morning.
Tasks and days off depends on the forecast and what are the things that need to be completed first.
You have 2 days off per week.

Rules

Toilet are dry and outside but the bathroom is inside and has hot water !
The chalet consists of a ground floor with the bathroom and an upper floor with a single common room. That is why we prefer / suggest you sleep in a tent for privacy and honestly every one so far loved it. We provide everything if you don't have it : a tent, a comfortable mattress, linen, blanket.
We have a wooden stove + gas to cook. The chalet is warm and is completely isolated.
Our chalet is not a farm. It's more a home-stay.
Non smokers
No drugs
