You will have a fully private house with a double bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, refrigerator, everything you need for cooking, a private bathroom, and a private garden.
In exchange, we request a maximum of three hours of help per day, five days a week. We would love to host two friends or a couple. We prefer people who are willing to stay for longer periods, as once the basic needs and routines are learned, it becomes easier to manage things independently, even if we must go away .
There is also the option to stay at another house we have in Rome, either for maintenance tasks, your personal city visits, or when we have family members or guests staying in Anzio or Rome. You may also help at home when me or my mum are there My grandparents do not require much help because they are independent and also have someone who takes care of their cleaning. However, our usual gardener does require some easy daily help . Normally, assistance from the male volunteer is enough, while the female volunteer can help inside the house whenever needed. We do not need daily housekeeping —only some help when it is required .
In both Anzio and Rome, there is a scooter available for you to use, and a car can be used to take my mother , to medical appointments, or to do groceries for yourself, for me, or for her .
The help we need is extremely simple and intuitive. It also gives you the chance to enjoy the Riviera, surrounded by greenery and close to the sea, while still being able to visit the Eternal City whenever you like. At the same time, you can enjoy the swimming pools—both at my grandparents’ place and at my home—as well as table tennis, the garden, and the hammock, especially when my grandparents are not there (which is often during the summer), or at my place when we are not hosting friends or free guests.( couchsurfing and similar kind of free hospitality)

We simply ask each volunteer for a maximum of three hours a day, for a total of 15 hours per week, five days a week.
Often, the two days off are many more , because the three hours of help are much less in practice, because many weeks end up having even more free days since in many weeks there not at home family members or guests, and often in autumn and winter garden doesn’t require much to do .
So, there is actually much more free time than volunteers might expect.
In Anzio and Rome, there is a scooter available, and a car can be used for you to go to buy groceries for yourself , or for me , or for take my mom to medical appointments, or to go to visit Rome and stay at our second home .
For this reason, it’s helpful to have an international driving permit and to know how to ride a scooter (no gears, just throttle and brakes) for your own comfort.
You will divide your time between Anzio, a charming coastal town, and Rome, staying in a well-connected house just ten minutes from the city center. It’s a great opportunity to fully enjoy both experiences.
We prefer volunteers who wish to stay for a minimum of three months, ideally six, so that if we must leave for a while they can be self-sufficient and take care of the house.
