This was my first volunteering and I arrived barely speaking spanish (but willing to learn) and having no clue how to run a farm or do construction work. I spent my first weeks alone with Ruth and Gene and they have been nothing but kind, patient and available to me! The housing they provide you is perfect, Gene is always making jokes and spreading his good mood, and Ruth is always happy to play games, work in a great atmosphere, cook and enjoy amazing tasty food together, and have conversations. I leave the farm with a better spanish level, added knowledge about farming, and awesome memories!

Ruth and Gene are so lovely and I had a great time staying with them. They are a really fun and cute couple, and I Loved spending time with them on their property and on trips to the beach or nearby towns. The tasks were all enjoyable and went by quickly in good company. The beach and supermarkets are all a long walk away from the property but I had the use of a bike, as well as buses, so I could still get around. My free time was spent at beaches and surfing towns. I would Love to return some day and hopefully spend more time here :)

Ruthi and Gene were from the very start able to make me feel comfortable and at ease. I felt welcomed and they made sure all of my needs were met and it truly felt like they cared deeply. They couldn't have treated me better, checking on me, offering me to accompany them anywhere to make me feel included, which they succeeded in, planing activities. I got to try Ruthi's amazing cooking, to meet all the adorable animals and I also had the chance to have the most beautiful scenery just in front of my own little house, in which every is provided. I truly couldn't have found a better place to go.

The farm has been the best volunteering experience I have participated in so far! The experience is really incredible thanks to Ruth and Gene, who are excellent people and hosts. Here I learned about plants, animals, construction, and the life lived in Costa Rica. The tasks are varied, which makes everything more entertaining, and likewise it was noted that you carry them out at all times alongside them. The facilities are wonderful, and the meals prepared by both are delicious. I am truly grateful for the opportunity; I didn't want to leave, and now I only think about returning!

Staying on the farm was an incredible experience; I didn't want to leave! Ruth and Genne are super lovely, kind, respectful, considerate and caring people. I felt very comfortable and safe with them. The tasks start from 6 AM to around 11 AM or 12:00. And they focus on gardening and their projects, a great opportunity to learn about the land and local species. There is also feeding the chickens and two piglets, always with Ruth's guidance. The facilities are amazing and the food delicious, Ruth is an excellent cook. I recommend the experience, I would love to come back!

The place is as wonderful as the people who live there! You feel at home from the moment you arrive, the good vibes of Ruth and Gene, with super comfortable facilities and a beautiful place. A peaceful place in the mountains with a view of the sea. The work in my case was varied but everything was doable. From feeding chickens; cleaning and feeding the pigs; gardens; sowing; etc. We worked alongside the hosts. An excellent experience if you want contact with nature, tranquility and good vibes.
