I had a wonderful experience getting taste of what is like to be in a farmer lifestyle, tasting the local food and learning about Taiwan culture. Thank you so much for everything the project, thought and opened my eyes to a new world

The project is friendly and welcoming host. He showed me around Chiayi and introduced many delicious local foods. I sat in some of the daily morning the project ceremonies with his friends and it offered me a glimpse into local culture. He communicates his expectations clearly in advance to avoid any misunderstanding. Side note is that tasks assigned can vary depending on season and situation (eg no. of ppl), so flexibility and adaptability are important. I'll recommend staying with the project to anyone looking for an authentic cultural exchange.

The project has been a wonderful host. The work itself is very manageable — he prioritizes breaks and makes expectations clear. We would start most mornings with a the project ceremony, which offered the perfect opportunity to practice my Chinese with his friends and neighbors. He cares deeply about his work and volunteers, making it a very special environment. Feel very lucky to have stumbled into this opportunity. Highly recommend if you want to laugh and sweat a whole lot.

My time with the project was absolutely memorable. He is very warm and friendly, enlightening me everyday with life stories and local culture. There are 2 sides to every story and I hope every volunteer gives the project a chance before turning down this opportunity because of a few 4 stars experience. the project does the project tours and I get to meet international travellers and learn from them too. the project has been very kind to bring me for sweet pineapples, traditional taiwan desserts, AMAZING local chicken rice, night markets and more. the project understands each volunteer well, caters task to my strengths

The project was an excellent host, he was very transparent from the beginning and set the expectations beforehand. Everything went smoothly and we had a lot of fun together! We engaged in construction work tasks and although I did not have a lot of previous experience, he guided me at all times. I'd definitely recommend this volunteering experience to those who are responsible and adaptable, willing to be immersed in the South Taiwanese culture and in somewhat physically-demanding tasks.

I had fun staying at the project's the project, but the experience wasn't without issues. The biggest issue was the dates. He tried shortening our stay when we were already in the country. Other volunteers had this issue too. He basically said "why should I have to confirm the dates for the volunteers, THEY should be confirming to ME." The only reason he's on Worldpackers is because he got reported on Workaway. He also won't leave you a review. Overall it was still a good experience, once you get past the frustrations with the dates and never knowing what you'll be doing at any given moment.

Not recommended if you want to work in an actual the project farm, or any farm for that matter. the project is a nice person, the work isn't very hard, the aspects of an actual the project farm aren't there besides perhaps talking about the project and having a small the project ceremony once in a while, most of the work is on a farm stay that he's building to host people on the mountainside.

To clarify expectations, this is not work on a the project farm as many volunteers naturally assume, but rather helping with various manual tasks such as cutting grass, clearing areas, or moving things around, and while the project is very friendly and kind-hearted, the organization was often chaotic with details not always clearly explained and communication sometimes more intense than necessary. however, overall it's a good short-term experience as the project introduced us to his friends and showed us how locals live in the area which added a valuable cultural side to the stay.
