I'm leaving the hostel with a full heart and so many memories that I will treasure for a long time.\nThanks to Cristobal for the warmth and the reception from day one.\nTo Ema for her responsibility and dedication.\nTo Javi for his tremendous vibe, to Chino and Manu for the tasty food.\nTo Caracol and Canelita, thanks for the side quests.\nTo Nachin, Pipe, Monse and Migue <3 for bringing me closer to what snow sports are, and to Carli who, even though we didn't spend much time together, is such a sweetheart.\nI'll carry from the mountain its dreamlike postcards, its story, and the people who made this experience special.

I learned about customer service when people arrived at the cafe or for lunch, and also when guests needed help. I mainly developed in cleaning and tidiness, skills that I enhanced thanks to Fran and Emanuel. I enjoyed all the facilities; Johan prepared delicious meals and I had precious days in the snow. Being on a volcano, if you want to explore Puerto Varas or other places you’ll need a car to get down, but exploring the red crater or the magical forest is part of the experience and every day is new. Thanks to Cristóbal and the whole team for treating me like I was at home ❤️ I would go again 🫂

My experience at the hostel was incredible. The place is wonderful. Being able to connect with nature feels like a true spiritual retreat. Cristóbal is an excellent host, a great person, as is the whole team that works and supports. Javier and Jona, my favorite people, thank you for so much good vibes. I recommend this volunteering and, if God wills, I will return in a few months. Grateful from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity to contribute with a grain of sand to this beautiful and charming place.

It was an amazing experience.
For me, the hardest part was being isolated.
There isn’t a nearby supermarket.
I recommend bringing your snacks, especially if you have dietary restrictions.
There is a deficit in the diet, as it isn’t balanced.
But they let us be free to make our meals.
Mariano, the person in charge, was always very patient with my limited Spanish.
The host at the beginning kept his distance, but later he proved to be welcoming.
The place is beautiful, and I saw snow for the first time.
The magical forest was enchanting, and the trails on the volcano too.
Volunteering was very rewarding.
Gratitude for the opportunity.

The location is amazing, without a doubt one of the most different places we've stayed. The staff is very attentive, the activities are simple, basically cleaning and organizing the place. If you have any dietary restrictions, it's good to ask them to stop at a supermarket and do your shopping. It's very far from the city and there are no buses, so the difficulty is getting down and enjoying your day off; as the other comments say, basically it's about asking about the day off and asking them to confirm beforehand, because there isn't an organized schedule, and the timing is split, a bit in the morning and late afternoon. Thank you ☺️

It was a good experience. The place is really very beautiful, and the refuge staff are good people, always helpful and receptive. However, the organization of the schedules left something to be desired. There is no well-defined work schedule, which creates disorganization and difficulty planning the routine. At times, the workload exceeded what had been previously agreed. I believe that a more structured definition of the schedules and greater respect for the agreement would make the experience more balanced for the volunteers.

Experiencing the hostel experience is otherworldly. I met people who filled my heart, especially Javier, who showed me how beautiful around the hostel was, and Jonathan, who taught me everything with patience and affection, in addition to the incredible nights watching the stars. Cristóbal, the host, was also attentive to anything and helped me when I had any difficulty. All that remains is that they have a good plan to welcome the volunteers and that the workers know what our role is, that we are also guests at their house despite the work, and thus we are all on the same wavelength 🩷

Being a volunteer at the refuge was very good, especially for the beautiful and wonderful landscapes up there on the mountain. I really had this enchanting experience that will never leave my mind. It made me connect literally with nature and everything it can offer, such as peace of mind and reflection. It was definitely worth it! But unfortunately there are some situations that could be improved, such as occasional instances where the volunteer is treated as if they were an employee, among other issues... But I believe that despite the differences, the learning was good!

It was very nice, we really enjoyed one of the best sunsets we've ever seen, we enjoyed the view of the lake and the snow-covered mountains, the cable car, meeting other people, the facilities at the place are very cozy, for these reasons it was worth it. However, still, it fell short in some aspects such as: We had little contact with the host, the issue of knowing how to differentiate between a volunteer and an employee, (overstepping tasks after the scheduled time). We thank the staff, especially Conon. It was worth the experience! The place will be missed. ❣️
