I had a really special and memorable time at the farm. The first days can be overwhelming as you're thrown into the chores, but you quickly get used to it. We shared rooms with dogs which were absolutely adorable, but that comes with 24h responsibility, which made it harder to fully switch off and relax. I loved all the animals, especially learning about horses and the staff did a great job giving us opportunities to learn. Sadly, during my stay we couldn't walk the kennel dogs or go on trail rides. I met so many great people and animals and am really happy I got to have this experience.

Absolutely magical experience. I couldn't recommend it more. My partner and I stayed for two weeks and found it so hard to leave. The team is welcoming and friendly and understanding. The work is rewarding and so doable, leaving you mountains of time to relax and explore. The animals are little angels, and you really feel the connection and love that radiates through this farm. If you have a chance… go to the shelter!!!!!!

The shelter is such a special place and I cannot recommend it enough! I spent 3 amazing weeks here and i had so much fun. Work is only a couple of hours a day and is very flexible , and there is someone always around to help. The staff and other volunteers are so welcoming and kind , this place really feels like a home away from home 🤍

Hftds was an amazing place with wonderful people and animals. The owner Nikki and all the staff members are so available and welcoming that I immediately felt at home. The hours and chores are respected and can be modified based on your needs. I also met so many amazing volunteers. The animals are all so cute and cuddly, I would recommend this experience to anyone that loves animals and wants to spend time immersed in nature.

I had an amazing time at the farm, so much so that I asked to stay a week longer. The work is very fair with lots of free time as well. Next to your regular chores you can always participate in additional tasks like grooming the horses etc. That is optional but I loved it. The farm is quite isolated but personally I enjoyed that a lot because the scenery is absolutely stunning. Me and the other volunteers went on lots of long walks with our foster dogs. I really appreciated the team spirit between the staff and the volunteers and would definitely come back.

I had a great time at the shelter! It was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves animals and likes to be in nature. The tasks were, although quite physical, very manageable and also very fun because I received a lot of love from the animals I worked with. Sadly I could only stay for two weeks which is way too short to get to know all the animals and tasks. I'll definitely come back someday and stay for a longer time. The memories and experiences you make there are unforgettable.

I had the most beautiful time at Hold fast to Dreams, the three weeks were over in what felt like 3 days. At the same time the farm felt like home from day one since not only everyone on the team but also the other volunteers were very kind and open to questions or just talking. The animals are super cute and I learned a lot about animal care and how to properly treat them. I will definitely come back to HFTD. Staying at HFTD was such an amazing and unforgettable experience for me ✨ Working with the animals was physically demanding, but it was so much fun and always something I really looked forward to. The farm and the surrounding nature were beautiful, and I met some truly wonderful volunteers and we had lovely evenings together. The hosts were also so lovely and caring, they really enriched the whole experience. My highlight, however, was fostering a dog. By the time we left, he had truly become like my soulmate, and I can't wait to come back and see him and the wonderful people again 🥹💕
