Everything was exactly as we talked before I arrived, so there were no surprises with the work or the accommodation. The team at the café was really kind and welcoming, and I felt comfortable from day one. I had a great time there and would definitely recommend this experience to other travelers!

I absolutely loved my time in the school! everyone was super friendly 💝 like a family. i absolutely recommend this experience, always knowing that this is another culture and you have to be respectful with it (the way you dress, for example)

I LOVED my time volunteering at the school! You are working 5 days with 2 days off which is a really good balance especially as my shift was always 4-9 pm (but I always stayed later) so you have plenty of time to explore Cairo before and after your shift. Having the opportunity to make local friends is ideal and will provide you with an authentic experience. I miss it already! There were a couple of issues during my time there (which were NOT the fault of the project) but the team there supported me on them 100% which is an important quality I wanted to identify. I wish I could write more!! ❤️

My time at the school was a great experience! The work is productive and engaging, the students and staff are really amazing and the hours are great. You have plenty of time to explore Cairo when youre not on your shift, and you'll discover so much more from engaging all the lovely people you'll meet at the café. You definitely won't regret giving it a try; it's the best way to experience everything Cairo (and the school) has to offer!

I had a very pleasant time volunteering at the café.Since volunteering here mainly revolves around facilitating conversations with groups of locals,it is an excellent opportunity to make befriend them and to learn about their culture. The staff including the owners are incredibly kind and willing to help you with whatever issues you may be facing making your way through Cairo.I would however strongly encourage people to bear in mind that the school is a relatively conservative culture with its own very particular social norms, and that visitors are fully expected to conduct themselves accordingly.

My volunteering experience at the school was amazing. I made close friends with both locals and other volunteers, and I learned a lot about myself. I truly believe you don't change the school—it changes you. Foaud and his lovely family were very kind and helpful throughout my stay. I really hope we meet again someday. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to better prepare volunteers for the culture shock, better organisation and communication. Love Iara 😊

I just love living it all branches. Nada and Fouad are the best people you can have as hosts. Both Egypt and Turkey branch is lively, best opportunity if you looking for meeting locals, have a discussion with them and learn the culture.

Working as an English language volunteer in Cairo was an amazing experience. The host made me feel welcome, supported, and appreciated from the beginning. I enjoyed helping students practice English, sharing cultures, and being part of a positive and energetic environment every day. It was a meaningful experience that helped me grow personally and professionally, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity.

My time at the school was overall very good. The work was fun and not too demanding, so I got the chance to explore Cairo and some nearby cities. We stayed at a hostel with a great location, so it worked out better for me but still I wish I had been informed about the change earlier, not the morning of my flight. I met some amazing people and had great connections with locals, students and staff, I miss them all <3 However, some people crossed boundaries, which made me occasionally feel uncomfortable and tense during my shifts. Thankfully, the management dealt with these situations well

At first, the tasks can be a little confusing, but with time you get used to everything. I would suggest asking about the exact location of the accommodation beforehand, as you may end up spending quite a bit on Uber if there isn't a metro station or public transportation nearby. The students are curious and wonderful, and honestly, you really enjoy spending time with them! Thanks the school! One thing I would suggest for future volunteers is to keep in mind that you are staying in a Muslim country, so it's important to be respectful of the local culture and dress accordingly.
