NOTE 2: We live on the outskirts, so transportation is limited. If you want to go to the center of Madrid, there is a bus next to our house that takes you to Guadalajara (1 hour), and in Guadalajara you have to take another bus to Madrid (another hour). But we can also arrange to drive you to the train station in Alcalá de Henares or Azuqueca de Henares.
Your day will start at whatever time you prefer, as long as you can dedicate 20 hours a week to volunteering. Some days you may work in the evenings, as we will need help at this time. This volunteer work is compatible with teleworking. We are quite flexible in this regard.
Your daily tasks will include (not all of them every day):
- Applying filler to walls
- Helping with decorating decisions
- Deep cleaning rooms that are being renovated
- DIY projects (sanding, painting, varnishing, etc.)
- Repairing minor damage
- Doing gardening work (weeding, mowing the lawn, planting, turning the soil, etc.)
You can have whatever we have for breakfast at home ☕ at the time you desire. Lunch and dinner will be prepared either by Jorge or by me (Carmen), and volunteers are welcome to join us for whatever we’ve cooked, or they can prepare their own meals. If you decide to join us, we usually have lunch at 14:00 and dinner between 20:30 and 22:00.
After completing the day's tasks, you will have complete freedom to enjoy your time, and on weekends you can join our plans—we always try to do something fun! 🎉
