Hello,
We are a hostel in San Diego!
We are looking for friendly and fun volunteers for housekeeping and reception shifts. If you're an international traveler temporarily in San Diego for 1-3 months and have a plan to continue your onward overseas travel, we would be very happy to meet you. We love having volunteers from all over the world who enjoy sharing their culture and learning ours! We offer part time volunteer positions in exchange for your accommodation.
If you are just staying for a month you will most likely be asked to do housekeeping duties. Longer stays may be trained on reception.

Volunteers help 21 hours per week, which we normally spread over 3 - 4 days. Our guests and volunteers come from all over the world. We organize many social events and have large common spaces where everyone can meet and share their cultures helping one another to better understand our differences and celebrate them. Ideas are shared from which we can all learn and grow from.

I really loved the experience at Lucky D'Hostel! I made some very precious friends and built memories that I want to keep forever. Everyone made me feel at home and helped me a lot to practise my English. I liked very much the hostel's living spaces. The only problem was that, although spacious, the kitchen is extremely hot and as many people use it frequently, it would be interesting if there were more sinks for washing dishes. In addition, I think the common room could be more used to promote interaction activities, such as drinking games and movie nights.
Overall, it was really worth it ♡

Sarah was a pleasure to have on our team! She is friendly, fun, and we were very happy to host her ^^ She is a very quick study, and completes all her tasks properly and efficiently :)

Lucky Ds is a fantastic place to volunteer at. In this hostel, you will meet amazing people from different countries, learn about other cultures, speak new languages, and make long-lasting friendships. Because Lucky Ds is located at the heart of downtown San Diego, there are plenty of great locations that are within walking distance, so there is no need to spend money in order to see the wonderful sights of San Diego. The manager is always available and ready to lend a hand in any problem or issue one might have. Would recommend this hostel to any volunteer who wants to have a great time.

I really enjoy the time I spent on Luck D's Hostel. The hostel made me feel like I was at home. The installations were comfortable and people were very welcoming. I will never forget the friends I made there and all the great experiences I lived. Hope to come back one day!

I had a amazing experience. I made many friends that I will remember forever of everything I lived and felt with them. only thing i have to complain about is that the manager has a bit of prejudice towards brazilians haha because the way he explains things in english is not with patience, it seems he is always irritated with you for not knowing how to speak english so well.. I don't know I just felt it. other than that my experience was great
