Eugene Hostel

We love supporting travelers from all over the world! A home for Artists, our hostel is filled to the brim with the art, music, and talents of years of work traders from every country imaginable. Located in the heart of the Whiteaker neighborhood, you are minutes away from the river, shopping, bars, restaurants, hiking, rock climbing, yoga and more! We have a Broadway theatre and endless cultural activities just a short bike ride away in downtown. We have bikes for our traders, and ensure 3-4 days off per week so you can truly get out and explore the skiing, climbing, hiking, beach, and city life all within 1 hour of Eugene.

Team board games, picnics, ski trips, camping, movie nights, and more!

You're traveling to experience, and Brenna (our owner, still in her 20s) gets that. Come stay with our family in our cozy little home!

We don't believe in sandwiching in traders and working you to the bone. Our hostel common areas are closed to guests every night to allow work traders space and time to themselves. We are working on plans to build yurts, icosa huts, RVs, and more in our backyard space to give every more flexibility to traders. We have a community garden you can tend and pick if you so chose, and we have yet to fail in honoring a request for time off. If you are sick, we are happy to put you up in our icosa hut for you to get better. You don't have to worry about being kicked out or left behind around here if you get sick or have an emergency come up. We ask for hard work, passion, and a willingness to create (systems, artwork, you name it!), and you'll find us here giving the same.

Absolutely amazing experience. Key and Claire, the managers, make sure to curate the vibe in the hostel to make it a great place to be. It is what work trading is all about, a fair exchange. Met only great people. Also, the city of Eugene is very cool. 5 stars.

Eugene hostel was a great place to stay as a volunteer! I was welcomed in the team immediately and that was pretty AWSOME! The managers Key and Claire are the best and most honest and greatest people on this planet. And the owner is really nice too! We went skiing for a staff day, hours are great and there was not a lot of work! And having the available breakfast in the morning helped a lot in the costs!
Eugene is not that AWSOME but worth a visit for sure.

Seriously such an amazing time in Eugene with the incredible hostel staff. I created so many loving friendships and am hoping to visit again in the summer. The work load was easy, flexible, and fair. So grateful for the space we were able to share and the fun memories we created. Thanks to the amazing managers for keeping the hostel a fun, loving environment :)

This was a wonderful experience. Management is very good with communication. Everything was clearly lined out and spoken to ahead of time. Management was very flexible with scheduling and gave lots of free time to explore the city.

The hostel is a great hub for anyone who dances to the beat of their own drum:) Claire and Key do a great job working with, listening to, and creating a safe environment for the volunteers. Emily is another wonderful manager if you’re lucky enough to work with her! Spending the holidays with the group we had was special and I won’t ever forget it. Eugene is a neat city with plenty to do and lots of nature to explore. LONG LIVE JIMBO!!🐱
