Aspire Home Stay & Volunteer !

Welcome to ASPIRE Training & Education!

Volunteers that choose to help ASPIRE can expect a wholesome and rewarding experience. Volunteering at ASPIRE will also allow you to be immersed in local Cambodian culture. If you look at our photo gallery, you can see various activities that the children enjoyed with our past volunteers. These activities have been created by voluntary teachers, many of whom have given their time and resources, adding to the opportunities we can offer our children, such as Khmer traditional dance, music instruments, and other school activities. We also welcome people from all backgrounds regardless whether you are fluent in English or not. This is also a great place to volunteer as a group as we provide housing for multiple guests.

ASPIRE TRAINING & EDUCATION a school and home for poor, homeless and orphans, is located 7kms to the east of the center of Siem Reap, on National Road 6 in Trang Village. ASPIRE is a non-governmental, non-profit organization aimed to assist children who are either orphaned, homeless, in poverty or have disabilities. We try to offer free education to children, especially destitute families throughout Cambodia . Cambodia suffered greatly during the Khmer Rouge and genocide (1975 - 1979) this totally decimated the population, many of the remaining population being left homeless, without food and shelter. Since then Cambodia has been slowly developing. However even now, work is not plentiful here so a lot of people leave to work outside the country or in areas where they cannot take their children. These children would be homeless if it was not for organizations such as Aspire school. We are providing 24 hour care for 20 of the 85 children from community for free education. They range in age between 5 to 16 years old. This is an ongoing project to support and educate children, with the goal to increase our care and education for the growing number that need our help, therefore the financial aid / support is very important and necessary especially now as the cost of living has increased. We ask for your help, which can be given by:- volunteering to work with the children, fundraising (also please feel free to discuss your fundraising ideas with us), building materials (to continue the construction of classrooms), monetary donations (to cover daily living and also reduce the loan amounts, financial reports are available on request) All donations of any amount are received with gratitude. (receipts issued) Remember with your help, these children can have a brighter future and we are proud to share that some of the older children have been able to go onto University thanks to the help of supporters and sponsors. We accept all volunteers as one of our own and we treat everyone as part of our family. As a volunteer, you will be assisting the school teacher to teach English to the children. However, you are more than welcome to teach them other cool hobbies as well. If you are interested for volunteering with our program, donating,or fundraising, please contact us. Contact details are at the end of this page. Aspire Home Stay guesthouse is safe and comfortable, we ask a volunteer to contribute $25 US per day for accommodation with 3 meals (breakfast with hot coffee, lunch and dinner). Rooms are air-conditioned and each has an ensuite. There is clean drinking water provided as well as vegetarian food options. We also offer cooking classes, explaining how to prepare, mix, cook and the use of flavors. This also includes a visit to the local food market to buy ingredients. There is an Aspire school recipe book available for purchase (this small recipe book also includes delightful drawings by some of the Aspire children). If you’re looking for a volunteering opportunity in Cambodia, look no further.
This was a life changing and incredible place to volunteer.
Sean and his whole family were so welcoming from the onset and made sure we had opportunities to learn about the local culture, and socialise with other volunteers. Sean is excellent at helping volunteers come together and socialise. It is a wonderful volunteering opportunity as you get to socialise and teach the children of Sean’s Orphanage. Sean and his family help and guide you to learn how to structure your lesson. Rooms were a good standard 🙏🏼

This experience was a life changing one for me and I can’t recommend it enough. I was amazed by how welcoming Sean and his family are, towards the volunteers and the community. Sean is an inspiration since he built this project from scratch and he’s doing an exceptional work making sure the children are taken care of. He understands the importance of English language when it comes to professional opportunities, so he does his best to ensure the children will have a good life. I had the time of my life learning and playing with the most loving children, and I hope to see them again soon.

This was an amazing experience and I couldn’t recommend enough. Me and my partner stayed for a bit over two weeks but still didn’t feel like it was long enough. Sean and his wife are amazing hosts who go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable, welcomed and enjoy the stay and offers some of the best Khmer food I’ve had. We felt like we were at home as soon as we walked through the door as the kids and Sean and his family are super friendly. If you’re looking to volunteer somewhere this is the place where you will make lifelong memories. Only bad thing was having to say goodbye

Me and my partner spent two weeks here at aspire and we loved it so much. Sean is a kindhearted man with a great sense of humour, and we instantly felt welcomed by him and his family. The kids living there enjoy spending time with volunteers and playing games. The school kids are happy loving and the English classes are great fun! If you have any particular skills (eg tradesmen, content creation) Sean is very appreciative of any help offered and for volunteers to share their ideas. The Aircon in the room works brilliantly. We will miss Aspire dearly, the experience was so fulfilling
