BALU Hotel & Hostel
We are a hotel/hostel where we always prioritize good vibes, friendship, and experiences... and we have worked with volunteers since we opened in 2017. Isla Mujeres is a magical place, with paradise beaches, crystal-clear waters, and incredible energy. We are located in the center, just 200 meters from restaurants, cafes and bars.
We work to give guests who pass through this place an unforgettable experience... Our team is made up of receptionists, housekeepers, volunteers and managers... we are like a family... always with respect and kindness, sharing moments!!

From the first day, my colleagues, who over time became friends, made me feel part of the hotel family. ❤️ Thanks, Sergio, Nahue, Mel and, above all, Maru, for giving me the opportunity to live this very special experience. Thanks also for the lovely yoga classes and for those little coffees shared after each practice, which made each day even more beautiful. Without a doubt, I recommend this volunteer program. The island has an incredible natural setting, with beautiful beaches very close to the hotel, obviously I will be back🫶

The hotel was a great experience. Schedules are respected and communicated in advance, which makes it easy to organize. I really appreciate the flexibility to be able to balance volunteering with my remote work. The activities are simple, and I learned a lot about reception. Maru and Marinet were always willing to help. The facilities are excellent, with a pool and a kitchen for volunteers. I would definitely return; and the island is simply spectacular! 🌴✨

The experience at the hotel was very positive, the place is super well located near the ferry, the square and with bars and cheap supermarkets nearby. It is also close to North Beach and Central Beach and the beaches here are incredible, the best beaches I have been to. Maru is very kind and gives you many benefits and help in addition to what was agreed, and we would love her yoga classes. Undoubtedly a very pretty place to enjoy on a paradisiacal island❤️🤩

My experience at the hotel was fantastic; it has a very good location, close to everything, which allows you to get around without spending a lot of money. The work is very friendly; we perform easy tasks, and the best thing is that you can connect with travelers from different parts of the world. Maru and Meli are always willing to help with whatever you need; you can have flexible shifts and adjust them to your needs. The island is a wonderful place and you have a lot of free time to enjoy it as you like, I recommend it 100%.
