Books Hostel
It is the best place in the world. At least we love it a lot. We feel really happy to have the chance to show Rio in the way we believe it is. And to open our door to people from all around the world!

This was my first ever volunteering experience and I had the most amazing time ever! Spending my time in Rio at this hostel with such an awesome team was one of the highlights of my entire backpacking trip!

I had a great time working here, the shifts are relaxed and there's good communication with the manager Andre. Also the volunteers were lovely. Only thing i'd say is do some research about the area beforehand because Lapa is not a safe neighbourhood, but that's not a fault to the hostel at all!

My first volunteering experience and it was a real success! André welcomed us and quickly integrated into the team, being patient and attentive!! We were many staff members, which created real cohesion. The staff team organizes events almost every day of the week, which allows you to discover Rio and the guests. The hostel is located in an authentic and very lively area.
