Cadorna

It is a quiet place in the center of Florence. This city attracts a lot of tourists, and it is easy to find people to chat, make connections, study, and see art.
The work consists of a few hours per day, and there is time to do many things.

The team consists of two to three people; we do weekly shifts and rotate.
I like easygoing people who are not complicated or overly structured. I like that things are discussed and we don't hide anything. Honesty is the basis of all relationships, so I expect people to be honest.
For volunteers we have a room that they share among themselves.
Smoking is not allowed here; you can go outside the building to smoke. If someone wants to buy themselves a beer/wine, they can buy it themselves.

My stay at the guest house was short, but very rewarding. The place is very welcoming, the tasks are simple and the schedule is completely flexible, which allows you to have quite a bit of free time to get to know and enjoy Florence. In addition, the location is excellent Ale is a person who makes you feel at home from the first day; thank you very much for the good conversations, the advice, the dinners and the walks. I have very fond memories from this experience and I hope to be able to return someday and stay longer. I definitely recommend this volunteering <3

Very nice and well-located place - there are 2 shifts: 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. In the morning, tasks are breakfast preparation and cleaning. In the afternoon, cleaning and check-in. Consider that there are two houses, so you may have to clean and check in at one of the two. Also consider that a guest may arrive at 3:00 PM or at 9:00 PM and they do not always indicate the arrival time, so you have to wait. Breakfast included for volunteers and smooth communication with Ale (the owner). Recommended!

You still need to clarify that if one person arrives at 3:00 PM and the other at 9:00 PM, you can go for a walk at 3:30 PM and come back at 8:30 PM. And if in the meantime they stay hanging out with Netflix or Tinder or drinking beer under the air conditioning, is this part of volunteering or a natural right?

We didn't stay in touch. Move on with your life elsewhere and make sure not to pass by my house again

I stayed at Hotel la casa for a week, for personal and health reasons. Alejandro was away traveling. There were other volunteers, one of them took care of everything; they were very kind to me, the atmosphere is nice, the tasks are clear, they assign you the afternoon shift since the other volunteer is fixed in the morning. They assign you the afternoon shift, and if a guest arrived after hours you still had to attend to them, which could be until midnight. I don't know if it was because Alejandro wasn't there, but the schedules weren't fully kept.

The late shift has no fixed schedule; you have to be there when the people arrive. If one person arrives at 2:00 PM and the other at 10:00 PM, in between you can go out for a walk. You don't have to be here. So you're not working from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM... You worked at 2:00 PM and at 10:00 PM... In the middle you stay because you felt like it—the air conditioning is here and outside it's hot. When you write irresponsibly, people understand just about anything.

My experience at the guesthouse hotel was excellent and could not have been better.
The team was wonderful, the accommodation is great. Alejandro is an excellent chef and the work you get is more than fair.
The hotel has a wonderful location, so you can be right in the city center in your free time to do something.
All in all, I can say that my time there was more than worthwhile and I was able to learn a lot.
I would warmly recommend this position at Hotel das Gästehaus to everyone!
