Can Ros Del Pla
We are a 30 minute drive to stunning beaches on the Costa Brava and only 20 minutes away from the vibrant city of Girona. We are also located in the cycling hub of Europe and have bicycles available for you to explore the region. Our project is at its very beginning and we are looking for people interested in old building renovation as well as people interested in food and cooking. We run cookery retreats and a private chef service around the Costa Brava. Our long term aim is to develop the farm into a field to table cookery school and restaurant.
We are a young family of 4. Suki, Steve our son Rocco who is currently 2.5 years old and our daughter Joie (pronounced Joy) who is only 6 weeks old . We have both (minus Rocco and Joie) travelled extensively around the world and feel like this form of travel introduces people to new experiences that tourism does not offer. We are looking to welcome you into our home and share our dreams for the future with you.

It was a very intense and meaningful experience, both personally and professionally. I felt welcomed and I sincerely thank you for the trust, the affection, and the opportunity to contribute my grain of sand. It is a project under construction and with challenges, which requires adaptation, availability, and commitment. For me it was much more than a trip: a human experience that allowed me to learn, step out of my comfort zone, and get to know a different reality. I take away lessons and very special memories. ❤️

My stay at the masia was a good experience. The family is very kind, and, together with the kids Marlene, Sergio, and Yanay, the daily treatment was super friendly. As for volunteering, sometimes the tasks are a bit tough and require putting in a lot of physical effort. There's no problem doing them, but the required times are tight and doing them well takes longer than expected, so it would help to better balance expectations with the amount of work. Despite that little flexibility, the treatment was always respectful and cordial, and the work climate was always very good. I recommend it.

At first, I thought I'd go there for a couple of weeks to see how things are, but in the end, I found myself leaving after 80 days! And that wouldn't be possible if Suki and Steve were not such lovely and warm people. When I was leaving, it felt like I was saying goodbye to my close friends. Especially their lovely kid, Rocco, who'd give a lot of energy to the whole house!
The place is a big masía, and there's always something to do. For me, the work was quite physical, but I kinda liked it, and at the end of the day, it felt rewarding.
All in all, I strongly recommend this place!

I had a wonderful experience volunteering here. Suki and Steve are incredible hosts. Super kind, organized, and they make you feel welcome from the very first day. The tasks are fair, the environment is peaceful, and the place is perfect if you want to connect with nature and slow down a bit. I met great people and learned new things. I truly recommend this stay, an amazing experience! Suki and Steve, thank you. I'm really glad I got to be a small part of what you're building, and can't wait to see all the amazing things you do!
