Carcassonne Townhouse
We are in the centre of a beautiful town, near the river and countryside. We have hosted volunteers from all over the world and love meeting people and hearing their stories.
New from Septemeber 2026, the working enviroment is the same however, due to a reconfiguration of the rooms, volunteers will be delighted to be able to stay in one of the original guest rooms, with full ensuite facilities :-)
We are a family of 3, mark, Rachael and Eve (9); we have a small Chambre d'hote and a little house about 70m away. Our volunteers have an ensuite room in the Chambre d'hote and we meet up on a regular basis. We have a housekeeper who helps us so there is always someone around to ask questions and have a chat with.

I adore Rachael and Mark. They treated me like family from the moment I arrived and went above and beyond the call of duty to be considerate and welcoming. The work was laidback, the accommodation was incredible, and the location was full of things to do - most of all it was a fun and impactful time. I had a wonderful experience and truly cannot recommend it enough.

The guest house was a nice volunteering experience in a beautiful small city. The weekly food money was appreciated, we loved cooking with Gero. Tasks were mainly housekeeping, breakfast hosting and some patio work like painting, gardening, and mold removal. The work standard was very detailed and expectations quite strict for volunteers, though we appreciated the trust given to us. The attic room lacked a proper door and had dust/maybe mold, which caused symptoms during our stay. Not everything matched with me and this place BUT still I am very grateful for this experience!

This was my first world packers experience and I would recommend to anyone wanting to come. It was nice to have my own room with my own bathroom. Everything is within walking distance and easily accessible. Rachel and Mark were very welcoming, the work but simple but can be tiring at times, and you can buy your own food and groceries. I typically worked 10:30-3:30pm, but they can be flexible and allowed me to choose my days off.

I spent a month in the guest house, and it turned out to be a really lovely stay, even if January weather isn't exactly the best here. The work was just what we'd agreed on. Big thanks to Rachael and Mark for being so welcoming!

My experience in the guest house was amazing. The city is beautiful, and the location of the place is excellent. Mark and Rachel were very helpful and guided me through everything to meet their standards. The work isn't difficult, but it can be tiring, so come prepared. Accommodation is comfortable, and you can buy your own food. the guest house is incredible, and I would love to return. The experience is definitely worth it with such kind hosts. Thanks Mark and Rachel <3
