Casa Caracol

Because this is not just a hostel, it’s a home. We are in the heart of Cádiz — a city full of history, sunshine, the ocean, and joy. Life here is simple and beautiful: we share meals, laughs, sunsets, and good energy. If you're looking for a real, human, and happy experience, this is your place.

We are a small team with big hearts. We love meeting new people, sharing good vibes, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Volunteers are treated like family — with respect, kindness, and joy. Yes, there’s work, but there’s also a beautiful way of living here.

Undoubtedly the strongest point of volunteering in the hostel is the people :) The environment is perfect for socializing and practicing languages, 100% recommended if that is your main interest and you are adaptable to different environments, conditions and tasks, you will surely have a great time! Julia, Carmen, Marquesa, Ana make the hostel what it is, thanks for all your good vibes! Additionally the hostel is very well located, close to the train and bus station, and places of interest. See you next time ;)

It was a wonderful experience and one of the best volunteering experiences of my life. Julia's warm welcome, her joy and her advice about Cádiz made me feel at home from the first day. I also appreciate the affection from Carmen and Ana, and the great volunteer family. Andalusians are sociable and kind, and sharing stories with the guests enriched my stay, allowing me to improve my Spanish and bring home unforgettable memories.

The hostel was my home for several weeks… it’s a beautiful place that makes you feel always accompanied. I carry with me the best memories of all the guests I was lucky to meet and the concerts on the terrace… my companions were wonderful people whom I will carry in my heart forever, and the hostel team is great!! And every morning the laughter and songs of the cleaning girls. 🥹✨🫶🏻 It was a pleasure to have been part of the team and Cádiz is a magical place. Thank you, the hostel 🐌🤍

I had a wonderful time volunteering here. The rest of the volunteers and staff were great people, always fun to hang out with. The building itself is a really cool with cozy spots to read in, a great terrace and plenty of area to socialize. The work was really fair, the shifts are short and they were happy to assigne them based on the volunteers preferences, I mostly worked nights and rarely had to make breakfast! Overall just an awesome place that I absolutely recommend.

I had a wonderful time at the hostel! I had initially only planned to stay for a month, but I ended up deciding to run up my visa, and stay 3 months. The hostel is cosy, warm and tends to attract a lovely group of staff and guests. The tasks given are fairly straightforward, flexible, and I was given a good amount of free time to explore Cadiz (a beautiful city), complete wider work, and enjoy hobbies. I felt quite at home at the hostel, grew quite fond of the city, and built really close connections with the people at the hostel, and will miss them dearly. Muchas gracias!
