Chácara Gentileza

Hello, how are you!? I hope so!!

We're not a company; we're a rural family property, a chácara, and we have many jobs and improvements. You won't feel like you're working!

Our town offers one of the best climates in the world, recognized by UNESCO! ☀️🌎

Here you will enjoy delicious homemade meals, fresh well water, pure air, the tranquil sounds of nature, and breathtaking sunsets. 🌿🍽️🌅

We have an organic vegetable garden and an orchard, from which we harvest fresh foods every day. It is the perfect setting to relax, reconnect with nature, and live the true country life.

Here it is a family chácara, we’ve been here for 2 years and we’re improving a little more every day. An idea to transform this place into something sustainable, both financially and ecologically. I want this piece of land to be self-sufficient in food and financially. That would be really cool!

For now everything here is a bit simple, we have a big and simple house, a garden producing well, some free-range chickens, and we’re living a simple life.

I like rustic ideas... for example, a solar oven, building a pau-a-pique house, dry toilet... some ideas I’ve seen around but I’m not sure how to do them. But we could do something like that...

I have a YouTube channel where I record interviews about farming, travel, ideas... I don’t record much, but if you're interested in recording, or helping me record, it would be a big help. Doing it alone is difficult. I do this only occasionally, it's more of a hobby

Note: we do not like to nag or bother, we give each person their own time, so we like proactive people who understand what needs to be done, who wake up early. We are also learning and improving the relationship with volunteers, with every day, with each experience it will be better than the last!

We do not charge anything, however if possible we would appreciate some collaboration when we go to buy food at the market. (And also, if the volunteer wants any specific food)

In case of rides, (perhaps, if I can do) the nearest train station is Campo Limpo Paulista, I will pick up and drop off if necessary.

I will ask for help with gas if the carpool is to cities farther away, like the Jundiaí bus station or Atibaia, or airports, in neighboring cities. Jarinú is a small city and has little public transport.

We are known for warmly welcoming our visitors and volunteers. 🤗💛

You will savor homemade country-style meals, rest in comfortable hammocks, and enjoy the peace and the sounds of nature — birds, roosters, marmosets and macaws. 🌳🦜

Our well water is fresh and pure, and the air is clean and refreshing.
Jarinú is famous for having the second best climate in the world, and here you can experience moments of peace, quiet, and natural beauty every day. 🌸🌿

(Note: We also have a German Shepherd who is very mischievous and promises not to leave you alone! He is a sweetheart!)

I learned new ways of sowing, I met Covi, the emblematic Covi, a vegetable with many properties; I enjoyed delicious food every day, I was part of them at all their family events of this season, which is why I made even more friends thanks to them. I learned Portuguese, I didn't know anything at all before.
I taught Rocky, the German Shepherd, and his family new ways to interact to prevent falls; with Mrs. Mercedes I played soccer with modeling clay and we also sculpted Rocky in modeling clay. We went to waterfalls, I visited São Paulo by metro, they joined me in skydiving. I appreciate them a lot

During this month of volunteering, my experience was, in general, positive and enriching. I especially highlight Ms. Regina, Ms. Mercedes, and Mr. Dimas, who were very kind, welcoming, and fundamental to my learning process. However, I think it's important to note something about Danilo, the person in charge of volunteering. At times, certain attitudes and comments in the form of jokes did not seem appropriate or comfortable to me, and I perceived that this also generated discomfort in the communal living environment. I am not expressing it as a complaint, but as a reflection.

What an incredible experience! The days were perfect; I learned a lot about the land, the plants, and organic practices. I was able to contribute in many ways, and I must confess I hardly felt like I was working. Danilo is an amazing human being, and I don't even have words to describe his family—all of them very loving and kind. I want to give a special thanks to Eliane, who from the very first moment welcomed me as truly part of the family, helped me and taught me a lot. She cooked meals that it was hard not to want to repeat, haha. I highly recommend this experience and hope to return many times. I will carry each one in my heart <3

Danilo is a great host; from the first contact he was very kind and welcoming. We had many pleasant days, lots of laughter, a game night, a fireplace, and a spectacular sunset. This is definitely a place to slow down and recharge. The food was amazing; being able to eat truly organic food is one of the highlights of this experience, I learned a lot about farming and collaboration. I felt at home and I will definitely return.

Espero voltar 🙏🏻🥹
