Me and my family have always lived in Corfu and we have a hospitality and hostel business near the beach. We are always looking for willing and happy volunteers to help get the place ready for the season. We need help with web marketing, computer work, some housework and maintenance, some furniture and room painting, activity promoting, and little odd jobs that need to be done around the place. If anyone has any plastering or bricklaying experience would be wonderful. We offer shared rooms, meals, wifi and we are near the beach and have free use of kayaking. We need help all year round. We are also affiliated and combined with the pink palace hotel and hostel. All volunteers must have travel insurance. Thank you for looking into our profile

All an all it was a really great trip, we enjoyed the time at the hostel. We met a lot of great people that was the best about the trip. The communication with the host was a bit complicated but you have to get used to it and then it’s getting easier. After the work shifts there was still plenty of time to explore the island or to participate in the activities provided by the hostel like kajaking or standup paddeling.
I am happy that I made this experience and would donor again.

I loved my time at the pink palace. I met so many great people and had the best time. I wish things were more organised but apart from that it was really great. The food was great and all the free activities were amazing.

It wasnt a great experience at the Pink Palace from the beginning. Before even arriving the host was unreachable and i wasnt able to contact her telling her i would be arriving after midnight - so when i arrived i wasn’t expected and there was no preparation. The work schedule changes quite often with mainly girls doing the cleaning, breakfast and lunch shifts - most of the times you had to do double shifts (breakfast and lunch) which was almost 8 hours a day with only 1 day off. Theres a huge emphasis on partying and staying out late and you were asked to leave if you didnt want to party.

My experience was a mix of highs and lows. People were amazing. However, tasks didn't match expectations. I expected painting but worked as a maid at the manager's residence, with long hours and uncertain shifts. Luckily, after speaking with the coordinator, I shifted to restaurant and kayaks. Yet, management lacked stability, with frequent changes and unexpected dismissals. There were troubling incidents with a male worker. He would yell at us, smashed a balcony window and one of the dorm's door and grabbed a woman's arm, which left staff insecure. Meals and beach bar nights were impressive.

I had a wondering time at the Pink Palace. I met so many amazing people and learned so much! Magda is a wonderful strong women. The best way to get the most of the experience is to communicate exactly what you want with Magda and she will always do her best to listen:) Overall my experience was great and I will be coming back.
