Cortal Avinyo
Cortal Avinyò is a Catalan Modernist-style farmhouse, built in 1903 and located in the middle of Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l'Empordà.
The natural space is a wonder that anyone deserves to know; our house has always been family-owned and holds many details of our history, of the architecture and of the Ampurdanes territory. Leaving your mark and having the possibility to inhabit this Modernist jewel will be unique and sublime.
We are a family made up of Riu, a precious three-year-old boy, my partner Xavi, my brother-in-law Tristán, a world of birds and insects, plants, flowers, two female cats and me.
We all take care of the farmhouse; we tend the garden, handle the maintenance, and cleaning.
We are calm and happy; we know how privileged we are, and for that reason we would like to open the space and share with more people the possibility to inhabit it, take care of it and enjoy it.

It is a special place for those who enjoy nature and a calm rural life. Work is done in the garden and cleaning and maintenance tasks are also carried out. The most beautiful part is sharing with people with good energy and with a very beautiful ethos. The hosts are excellent, very friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. An experience I recommend for those who want to disconnect, learn, and live in contact with nature.

Fai and Xavi are great hosts, reliable and very fair when it comes to the work. They're both very well-rounded and I loved learning with them about many things, from cooking, to gardening and growing a small farm. This is only my second WPs experience so far but I already think this would be difficult to top.

Fai and Xavi are so respectful, creative and caring. The whole exchange felt even and that we really learned how to take care of a garden and other skills around the house. Has been my favorite WPs so far I cannot express how much love and enjoyment I got out of this experience :)
