De Valley Basecamp

Nature at Your Doorstep....
Our location is a peaceful escape. surrounded by greenery, fresh air, and the soothing sounds of nature. Just a short walk away, you’ll find a beautiful hidden waterfall. The perfect spot to relax, reflect, and reconnect.☺️

Hi! I’m living here on my own, after spending over 10 years working in engineering and living the fast-paced city life. A few years ago, I made the choice to slow down, reconnect with nature, and build a simpler, more peaceful life surrounded by trees, fresh air, and the calming sound of a nearby waterfall.

Now, I focus on slow living-growing my own food, working with my hands, and appreciating the small things. I enjoy sharing this lifestyle with travelers and volunteers who are curious, open-minded, and looking for something a little different from the usual tourist path.

Even though I live alone, you won’t feel lonely here. I treat volunteers with kindness, honesty, and respect. You’ll be welcomed like a friend. I believe in fair work, clear communication, good food, and creating a space where you can feel relaxed, useful, and connected.

There’s time for work, and also time for rest—whether you want to take a dip in the waterfall, read a book in the shade, or just enjoy the quiet around you. If you're looking to recharge, learn something hands-on, and be part of a simple, grounded life, this is a great place to do it.

Let's gooo 🤗🫶

I had a good time on the land with Amir and the cuddly cats and dogs. It was lovely being immersed in nature. The work we did was also nice, we did some carpentry, painting and we designed a new building. I would have liked more structure, time wise. I gave this to Amir as feedback and he’s gonna work on it :). All in all I had a nice experience!

I had a truly special experience here :) The place is surrounded by nature and peaceful, the atmosphere is authentic and really allows you to disconnect from the busy world. Amir is kind and welcoming: I felt at home from the very beginning! The work is fair and well balanced, with plenty of time to rest and enjoy the surroundings. I also had the opportunity to meet local people and immerse myself in the culture, which made the experience even more meaningful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for nature and cultural exchange (and loads of beautiful cats 🥹)

My time in Amir's the camping was great! Amir is a very nice host and gave us the chance to dive into malay culture. We met his friends, neighbours and family to celebrate the end of Ramadan together, which was truly a unique experience! Work was not heavy, mostly about cleaning the facilities and garden and feeding the animals. The area is very beautiful and Amir has lots of cute cats for anyone who likes animals :) I can definetly recommend doing this project.

Staying with Amir at his camp was an amazing experience. He is very welcoming and a chill person to be around. His place is a great way to spend time in nature. He will show you around his village, introduce you to his community and takes you to the local warung and karaoke nights!! We would also cook and eat together, which was really nice! The work was definitely doable and relaxed scheduled with some woodwork, feeding the fish, cleaning up, prepping the pond and painting. We would totally come back and it's a big recommendation to other volunteers to go to Amir's place :)
