Don Cirilo

Don Cirilo is a campsite on the shores of Lake Alumine, surrounded by the natural beauty of Villa Pehuenia, with a special charm. We enjoy sharing moments in a group, whether during work or enjoying a good meal. Nearby, there are beautiful beaches where it's always a good plan to end the workday by watching the sunset. Although we are relaxed, we work hard to offer an excellent service to our guests. We offer you everything you need to live a complete Patagonia adventure.

Don Cirilo is a cabin and camping complex with about 15 hectares and 14 cabins. We have a team of 10 people, including administrative staff, receptionists, cleaning and maintenance personnel. We foster a friendly atmosphere and teamwork, where communication and organization are key to smooth operation. Each member has access to the necessary tools and a daily task list, in addition to internal logistics and mobility. Our animals, such as horses, cats and dogs, are also part of the team. Our goal is to offer a relaxed environment for volunteers and to motivate each other to provide excellent service.

If you’re not used to sleeping in a tent and cleaning toilets and showers for men and women, I wouldn’t recommend it. The five hours I worked were not fair relative to the cost of staying in the tent, and there’s internet only if you go near the reception. The place is beautiful—the lake, the forest, and the crew too—although on the first day one of them left me condoms after I had cleaned the tent, I don’t know for what purpose. And Cami uses the app to have the bathrooms cleaned for free, and she communicates in a passive-aggressive way, and minimizes and dismisses the uncomfortable incidents. It wasn’t nice for me.

Hello Debi, thank you for sharing your experience.
Prior to your arrival, a call was held in which the volunteer program was explained, the tasks, and the conditions of the exchange. During your stay, when you expressed discomfort, I contacted the team and we held a meeting to listen to you and support you.

Unfortunately, the experience was not what either party expected, as there were also schedule breaches and an early departure without notice. We will continue

The truth is that everything we agreed on was fulfilled; the work team is very good, people with a predisposition to welcome you and make you feel part of it beyond the fact that they’re working. I met the guys from the Mule Trail, which is another annex campsite of the campground, and the truth is that Euge and Dami are total geniuses. I loved having been part of that beautiful community they have at the complex. My only "critique" or negative review is that they should have a Plan B for when it rains, since one is in a tent and water gets in. Watch out! In summer it doesn’t usually rain but when it rains, it rains 🥴

Volunteering is a very good opportunity to enjoy nature, tranquility, and the beautiful places of Villa Pehuenia. Simple tasks are carried out with defined working hours, which allows you to explore the area.
