El Parche Rutero

Our volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about Peru's Andean culture, share holistic and spiritual experiences, as well as visit archaeological centers offered by this magical city of Pisac and the rest of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Here you will be able to discover sacred places, ancestral rituals, stories, myths and legends from our tradition, our patronal festivals, folk music and also psychedelic music,
in addition to visiting magical mountains, lagoons and communities of indigenous peoples where the culture is still alive.

We offer: a bed in a shared room with other guests, use of a washing machine, gym, access to our kitchen for meals. Coffee, tea and a fruit basket for volunteers.

We are a group of 4 friends originally from Lima, Peru, and a staff of 3 native Pisac employees who work at the reception and maintenance of the hostel alongside us, forming our alternative hostel project.

This idea began in October 2012 in a small house with a capacity for 23 people and only with shared rooms; until June 2016 we worked with many volunteers, where we spent pleasant moments and exchanged a lot of cultural knowledge and languages from around the world. Afterward we decided to start a new venture and expand the hostel's services, so we built a new house, bigger and more spacious for the comfort of our guests, with more common areas, better services and a modern and safe infrastructure.

It was a great volunteering experience!
The schedules were clearly defined; Miguel is very organized, and everyone received a spreadsheet with the schedules and tasks, in addition to their days off.
The hostel is very clean, you can cook, relax on the terrace, and meet many people from other countries!
Pisac is an excellent place, very peaceful, full of history, and it sits on the way to many other places to visit.
Thank you for everything, Miguel and the other volunteers! It was really nice spending this time with you.

The work is mostly reception with some cleaning, from 16 to 20 hours per week and the schedule was respected. The computer system was easy to use and my tasks were clearly explained and easy to understand. I was treated well here. Everyone was friendly. The surrounding area is beautiful, and the inside of the hostel is very clean and well maintained with good showers, living rooms, and a well equipped kitchen. I was very comfortable here.

My experience at the hostel was really special. ❤️ Miguel is an incredible manager: he organizes everything very well, respects your time, trusts the volunteers and always keeps his word. The atmosphere among the volunteers was beautiful, with a lot of cooperation and camaraderie. And, of course, Chaufa 🐶 made the experience even more special. I leave very happy and grateful. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and, if I return to Pisac, I will definitely return to the hostel! ❤️

My time at the hostel without a doubt was a great experience. The hostel has incredible facilities, but on the other hand you have to tell the truth: there were times when the treatment was cordial and others where it was quite disrespectful and badly spoken. When a mistake was made, the scolding was intense and done with great reluctance. And afterward the vibe was quite uncomfortable, since after a bad treatment you had to share the whole day. And afterward they treated you well and you didn't know what was happening. Something that seemed uncomfortable to me was that he left me a review before leaving and that he forced me to leave a high rating.

I did not have a good experience with the host. I felt disrespected and cornered, just like other volunteers and guests regarding the stance of the host. The description does not match the things offered; the host says there are no bikes and laundry
