Ficaghja

We live in an incredible landscape, between the sea and the mountains, with three dogs, two hens and a cat. You'll be surrounded by nature, far from traffic noise and light pollution, and we’ll show you beautiful spots to trail or swim nearby. We’re curious about lots of things and love connecting with new people, trading thoughts, and learning from each other. Beware though, we live in a remote place, the nearest small shop is 20 minutes away by car.

We're currently mainly working on rebuilding a small stone house. We're looking for 1 or 2 people for either work with us on the house or taking care of the land/gardening. If these roles are filled, a third person could join to cook and help with everyday duties. We'll provide you with a tent to sleep with a good mattress and food, in exchange for 4 to 5 hours of work and a contribution of 5€/day

My two weeks with Jess and Nico were extremely enriching, calming and productive!! This is a great place for meaningful and topical discussion and work (timings for which were very considerate + attentive given the summer heat!) The tent was really comfy, and I loved having the hammocks in the forest to lie and read a book :) The location is an amazing way to discover non-touristy Corsica and its wild and isolated nature! I loved it ❤️

Nico and Jess were so friendly and welcoming, I was quite nervous at first as this was my first time using Worldpackers but they made me feel very at home. They are both very passionate people and were incredibly interesting to talk to, I learnt a lot during my stay about the environment and many different political topics. The scenery is just amazing, Nico and Jess were great for showing me around the area and ensuring I had time to really see the town which is beautiful. It was such a great experience and I still miss their adorable dogs!

Jess and Nico were the best. They were very welcoming, and adjusting to life in Corsica was easy. They are incredibly knowledgeable about so much, so never a dull conversation. They are very generous, flexible, and great listeners. Would highly recommend this experience if you are looking for rich conversation, outdoor work, and a natural setting. And, their dogs are the cutest :)

My time with Jess and Nico was fantastic. If you're looking for a beautiful place to settle into a rhythm, this is perfect. everyone is super flexible and the work isn't too hard; we usually worked from 9;30 or 10 to about one, made lunch, and either did a little bit of work in the evening or helped with dinner. if you wanna walk to the beach by yourself it's about an hour and very steep, but they were always super willing to drive us more than halfway at least. We had a lot of good conversations about basically every controversial issue, and also the food is really good. Great time in nature

I don't think a quick review could wholly capture the warmth and richness Nico and Jess so generously showed me, and I am so grateful to be just a small part in their exciting journey. I thoroughly enjoyed helping construct their garden, learning about sustainability, language, food and philosophy throughout the process, also having the chance to share meals and music with other locals. They left a great impact in the way that I now strive to interact with the world, and anyone would be lucky to share a conversation with them. I wish the best to them, their adorable pups, cat, and chickens!
