Gaia Amazon EcoLodge
GAIA lodge and Spanish school is a small venture located in the Amazon Rainforest, one of the most beautiful and bio diverse areas of the world. Our goal is to offer great services in a familiar atmosphere. Our services, activities and tours are designed to offer a complete immersion in the nature and culture of the Amazon Rainforest. All participants can be part of our staff, and benefits our services at the same time, such as spanish courses, activities and tours.
Being the owner, I am flexible and friendly person always ready to support my staff. I maintain friendly relationships with every person involved in GAIA as well as the indigenous communities living nearby. Most of our staff is native indigenous that speaks Kichwa and Spanish. They are welcoming and friendly people always open to learn new things. Our volunteers can expect to be treated with respect and kindness in a friendly atmosphere. Be sure that we'll also take a good care of your safety and comfort, we reseve tourists and students, so everything is thought to make them (and volunteers) feeling at home.

I spent 2.5 weeks here I enjoyed myself! The work consisted of cleaning common areas for guests (sweeping floors, wiping down tables, and fixing the sofa and chair cushions), serving breakfast/lunch/dinner to guests, and stocking the tea and coffee bar. The work is simple and easy. I was able to go on all the tours offered. I felt welcomed by the other volunteers and staff. It is in a beautiful location and you feel immersed in nature. The lodge is small and there was never more than 12 guests.

El lugar es increíble, el staff del lodge hacen que te sientas parte de este.
Puede ser que hagas algo mas de horas de las acordadas si vienen grupos grandes, pero si te organizas bien con otros voluntarios se lleva bien.
Comidas geniales, y ya sea como parte del trabajo o en tu tiempo libre vas a poder disfrutar de los tours.
Agustín una gran persona, nunca nos faltó de nada y siempre estuvo atento a nosotros!
Realmente se siente como una gran familia tanto con el personal del lodge cómo los huéspedes que van llegando!

Se vive la mística de la amazonía, se siente el latir de la cultura, se logra percibir la tradición. Un mundo fascinante, un mirar hacia horizontes desconocidos.
Me queda expresar, que la valentía de explorar nos acompañe y depositemos lo mejor de nosotros en el liderazgo de Agustín.

Volunteering at Gaia Lodge was incredible - expect to give a lot but also receive a lot. The work involves simple tasks like preparing, serving, and washing dishes for about two hours per meal (6h/day) when guests are present. Volunteers here enjoy great benefits: comfortable rooms, the same food as guests, and access to the kitchen. During your break time you can join guest activities and explore the Amazon. The sense of community you built here is strong, and I miss my fellow volunteers: Domenica, Juan, Jordi, and Enrique!
