Granja Patagónica
you will have a direct connection with nature and Patagonian crops; the experience is hard work, but rewarding to prepare the cultivation site and produce food with your hands. you should take into account that the jobs are given according to what the seasons of the year allow us; some months, such as autumn and winter, are only for routine tasks: cleaning, pruning, soil preparation, cutting and storing firewood, repairs, cleaning the yard and the facilities, snow removal, keeping the spaces of our animals clean, spring weeding, planting, irrigation, summer harvests, and all of the above.
you will also be able to enjoy walks around the city and its surroundings after the workday, since we are located very close to the city.
you will be part of the house; we share lunches together, as well as moments of music and sometimes board games; it all also depends on the willingness of the volunteers who have the freedom to come and go in their free hours, having the kitchen at their disposal, but also the responsibility to keep the common spaces tidy; all our facilities have been built with care and that is how we try to maintain them for each of the volunteers who choose to come home; we are in the process of becoming a sustainable property; we have solar panels so electricity use is careful; implementation of gray water, which is why we request the use of laundry soaps and shampoo that do not contaminate the soil; now we are moving toward dry toilets, inside and outside the house, which means not throwing papers into the toilet. You will be asked to take care of the tools and work implements such as clothing, gloves or others used, leaving them clean and stored in the place designated for them. This is the lifestyle of several people in my family; it is not a farm for pleasure but a business, hence a job done with love and respect, which must be profitable to be sustained over time.
