Green & Away

No year at Green & Away is the same - because we are a temporary venue that operates only in the summer, the site may look different depending on the various events we have running that year.
The season is split into different phases: set-up, events phase and take-down so the work is always varied. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in all aspects of the camp and even join in on events and educational talks and workshops.
One of the best things about G&A is the close-knit community that forms from new and returning volunteers from all walks of life.

We don't have any formal staff - everyone who helps run Green & Away is a volunteer and we're all living and working together during the season. There are a group of trustees who ensure responsibility of the overall project however. Volunteers have their own space to relax when not working and we have plenty of off time, day trips and opportunities to socialise and enjoy the site.

My experience at G&A was fantastic. Everyone treated me well, the place was beautiful, and the food was delicious. I would definitely return next year.

My time at the eco village & the eco village was truly wonderful! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to contribute to a meaningful project, learn more about sustainability, live close to nature, enjoy delicious vegetarian food, and become part of an amazing community. The work varies throughout the setup, event and takedown phases, but it is absolutely manageable. In our free time, we played games, sat around the campfire, had great conversations and simply enjoyed being there. It was a truly memorable experience. 💚

If you want to connect with nature, learn about sustainability, and make friends with international volunteers, G&A is ideal. However, they didn't respect working hours, and that was really exhausting for me. The work is quite physically demanding and done under the sun. Most days we worked eight hours, sometimes more, so if you're going to apply, you know what to expect. But the great friendships and the experience I gained made it all worthwhile.

From day one I felt the good vibes that this place has. We sang songs around the camp fire, we played games, we learnt how to dance Celtic dances and so much more. Truly unique. I hope to be able to comeback next year
