The island and the hostel are beautiful and I enjoyed chilling in the garden and discovering its fruits. The work was easy and Rodrigo really flexible with hours.
But I was supposed to have access to a bike and it was initially not the case. I had to ask two times for the bike to be fixed and still, it's not a good one, you cannot use it to go far away. Which makes a difference as moto taxis are expensive there.
Some of the owner's friends were living in the hostel for several months. They were all nice with me but I was the only young foreigner woman so I didn't always feel at ease.

Wonderful experience, the hostel is sensational; I met incredible people that I hope to carry with me for life...the island is wonderful, you live among buffaloes in a paradisiacal place..sensational cultural immersion with the stamp and Marajoara crafts...the hostel has a backyard filled with fruit trees to eat as much as you want...mango, pitanga, acerola, tamarind, avocado and much more...the tasks are tranquil, take care of the garden and keep the house clean. Rodrigo is a partner host, enjoy the tours with him, all are incredible. Highly recommended!!!

My experience at the hostel was great! The activities were very flexible; when we couldn't do them at a certain time, we had total freedom to do them at another time. The hostel is super cozy with a huge yard full of fruits; Rodrigo taught us a lot about Marajoara culture; the city itself is already enchanting, full of culture, and the hostel contributed even more to the experience. I'll miss it 🤍

Rodrigo welcomed us very warmly, the Habitat hostel is also very welcoming and beautiful, well located and with simple and quick tasks, only on a few occasions did we have to do something difficult or laborious, but we never went past the schedules and there was always clear communication from both sides. Unfortunately we had to end our stay, I would like to stay much longer. However, as my first volunteering experience, I feel that now this is the path I want for my life, I would highly recommend the hostel, we met amazing people there, I can't wait to be able to see everyone again.
