Welcome to Hacienda Mazahua where you will get a genuine Mexico experience. We are in the heart of the valley of Mexico at 8,000ft elevation! This is no Cancun but it is rich in history and culture. The Hacienda itself was built in 1718 so in itself it is a historical building with some beautiful architecture. If that is not enough, we are a short drive (or bus ride) from some beautiful towns such as El Oro, Tlalpujahua, and the Monarch butterfly sanctuary.
All of our staff are locals to the area. While they are all friendly, most of them do not speak great English so if you want to be immersed in a language you have found the right place. While the Hacienda is a large place, we only have about 6 full time staff with most of the other staff being brought in for events. So we are very close and usually al have lunch together.

La hacienda es un lugar bonito y relajante, si te gusta el contacto con la naturaleza es el sitio ideal, los jardines y los árboles que tienen son preciosos, la comida es muy rica y las personas son muy agradables, recomiendo ampliamente el lugar y la experiencia.🌳🌲🌸

The hacienda is full of things to do. This was our first work away, so we did not know what to expect.
Joshy's philosophy is to find something to do or ask and take initiative. It works out really great. Joshy is a great host. It's super fun to be around and always willing to make you feel comfortable with what you are doing.
They have a beautiful pool, green areas, a soccer field, and a basketball court. (We had a lot of fun playing card games at night, doing a bun fire, and playing soccer with the locals) Like I said, there is a lot to do. Oh, and the staff were great to talk and chill with

It was a pleasure having you two at the Hacienda! You really blended in with the staff and the locals which was very nice. I think everyone here still misses you!

Hacienda Mazahua es un lugar muy bonito perteneciente a la riqueza Arquitectónica de San Felipe del Progreso y con un registro antiguo de construcción de 1718 .En el lugar pude compartir espacio con otros voluntarios y convivir con personas de la localidad que aún conservan su lengua Materna " Mazahua".
La comida es Deliciosa y se pueden degustar platillos Mexicanos ,Don Norberto nos llevó a conocer lugares cerca que en México son denominados cómo " Pueblos Mágicos " .
Yoshi es un chico muy amable y accesible,Las tareas no fueron difíciles y el hospedaje muy cómodo.

Ser voluntaria en la Hacienda Mazahua ha sido una experiencia muy grata porqué el equipo del staff con el que convives es muy amable, servicial y de gran corazón. Estarás rodeado/a de amplias áreas verdes, edificaciones rústicas del siglo XVI, lindos animales como perritos o caballos que llenarán tus días de muchas paz y alegría para desarrollar tu rol como voluntaria de forma inspiradora y tranquila. Tendrás la oportunidad de proponer tus ideas con total libertad para apoyar a visibilizar el emprendimiento. Gracias por todo! Los extrañaré!
